Wands at the Ready! A ‘Harry Potter’ Dark Arts Light Show Is Coming

“Happiness can be found in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light,” Dumbledore tells Harry Potter in The Prisoner of Azkaban.

Get ready, muggles, because the lights are definitely being turned on in a spectacular fashion for a new Dark Arts lights show coming to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter.

At both Universal Studios in Hollywood and Universal Orlando Resort, a Harry Potter–themed lights show will brighten up the night sky…so grab your fave Death Eaters and go. The lights show is called “Dark Arts at Hogwarts Castle” and will also include a surround-sound experience featuring music from the original motion pictures and the London Symphony Orchestra. The show will be included in regular theme park admission.

Besides the projection show on the side of the Hogwarts castle in both parks, creatures from the Forbidden Forest, like Aragog and his pack of giant spiders, plus trolls, Dementors and even He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named, will make an appearance.

Universal Studios in Hollywood will hold the special event each night from April 13 to 28 and again from May 25 to 27, while Universal Orlando’s dates will be announced “later this year,” according to the company’s press release. We’re just hoping they wait ’til the new themed roller coaster is up and running in the Florida theme park: Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure, opening June 13.
