Now this is a trend I can get behind

Trends are funny—they come and go faster than you can hit “add to cart.” But every once in a while, one shows up that feels like it might actually stick around. Case in point: butter yellow. The soft, sunny shade made its debut just in time for spring and summer, and it’s been having a major moment ever since. From nails to handbags to airy sundresses, butter yellow is officially everywhere. And now, Eva Longoria is making a strong case for why it deserves to stay.

On Sunday, June 29, the Desperate Housewives alum took to Instagram to share a few dreamy snaps of herself in a gorgeous halter mini dress. The look? A plunging neckline, strappy sandals and, yes, the season’s trendiest color: butter yellow. With her hair pulled back into a sleek ponytail and minimal accessories (just a ring and delicate earrings), Eva let the color speak for itself.

The photo carousel featured two casual-chic shots of Eva barefoot at a bar, drink in hand, with a bowl of lemons perfectly placed nearby (color coordination on point). A third photo showed a bouquet of pink, white and orange flowers and the final slide gave us a full look at her stunning outfit.

Her caption? Just a foursome of yellow and green emjois.

Eva’s no stranger to embracing a trend, whether she means to or not. Just recently, she shared a photo lounging poolside in a bold animal print swimsuit—another pattern that’s making a serious comeback. Everyone from Serena Williams to Simone Biles has jumped on the animal print wave this season.

But while animal print may have a shelf life, butter yellow feels like it’s in it for the long haul. And if Eva’s wearing it, I'm officially sold.
