Emma Roberts Is Back to Honey Blonde, People

Emma Roberts is back to blonde.

The 28-year-old American Horror Story: 1984 star swapped out her “1984 brunette” ’do for a brand-new honey blonde, and we’re totally feeling it.

We chatted with Roberts’s longtime stylist Nikki Lee, owner of Nine Zero One salon in Los Angeles, during a Celebeauty Sit-Down about how she took the actress from a brown lob to long blonde locks in a single day.

Lee explained that she did cut and color, but tapped Seama Eftekhari to set her up with some extensions. “Honey got a new do! Emma is proving that not everything is going to be icy this winter. Instead, we’re keeping things warm,” Lee said.

“Since we knew we wanted to go long with her hair we wanted to make sure the blonde wasn’t platinum-looking. Keeping it in this honey tone gives us a more natural and classic vibe for this holiday season,” Lee explained.

So, how did Lee take her from dark to light without frying her strands? She said, “Joico’s Blonde Life Lightener ($30) allowed me the lift I needed with the control to keep the integrity of her hair. Emma has been many colors for various roles, so keeping her hair healthy is always our first priority.”

From there, Lee “treated her hair with In Common’s Crystal Cashmere in-salon treatment. This added nourishment and strength back into her hair and left it feeling soft and looking shiny.”

Finally, once her locks were back to a healthy blonde, Lee “tag teamed Great Lengths Extensions with Seama to add the length and fullness we wanted to Emma’s hair. We left her hair long and I added seamless layers and texture, we were thinking renaissance vibes.”

The change came at a great time, right after Roberts wrapped American Horror Story: 1984. “After shooting AHS with short dark hair this was the perfect switch to add brightness and sunshine in her life!” Lee said. “We’re loving it!”

Honey blonde looks good on you, Emma.
