Baby Alert! Ellie Goulding Just Welcomed Her First Child

It’s official: Ellie Goulding and her husband, Caspar Jopling, just welcomed their first child together.

Over the weekend, Jopling announced the exciting news on his Instagram Story (@casparjopling) and wrote, “Mum and baby both healthy and happy. Extremely grateful.”

The new dad also thanked fans for giving them privacy during this special life chapter, adding, “I don’t ever address the public attention that comes with Ellie’s job. But during this magical and personal moment we would really appreciate being able to enjoy our privacy…Thank you x.”

Jopling even posted a screenshot of his most recent Google search: “world population 2021.” In the photo, he crossed out the number to include their new baby.

We first learned about Goulding’s pregnancy back in February, when she announced the news on Instagram. During an interview with Vogue U.K., the musician revealed that she found out she was expecting around the time she held a livestream concert for her latest album, Brightest Blue.

“We did the one show. I was pregnant and had no idea,” she told the mag. “That was [around] the time when Caspar and I went away briefly when we were allowed to for our one-year anniversary, and that’s basically when we found out. It was crazy because it was our one-year anniversary. That was not the plan.”
