No makeup, no problem

When it comes to true self-care, sometimes the best move is slipping into sweats, ditching the glam and just being unapologetically yourself. And it looks like Drew Barrymore is right there with us.

The talk show host was recently photographed in Miami Beach enjoying a well-earned day off—not just from The Drew Barrymore Show, but from all things high-maintenance. Dressed in a relaxed blue tee and cozy sweatpants, Drew went makeup-free and looked totally at ease, in the photos, obtained by OK! Magazine. She carried her shoes, sipped on Starbucks and accessorized with a laid-back combo of a baseball cap and sunglasses. In short: vacation goals.

Barrymore has always been vocal about embracing her natural self. She’s even shown solidarity with Pamela Anderson, who made headlines for rocking a bare-faced look at red carpets and award shows. When Anderson appeared on The Drew Barrymore Show last October, Drew told her, “You're the pioneer of what we're certainly doing here today.”

The 50 First Dates star isn’t just talking the talk either. On May 8, she posted a playful Instagram video dancing to Lizzo’s “Good As Hell” in a white bathrobe, fresh out of the shower, hair wet, snacking on a plate of potatoes—completely makeup-free and loving it.

The no-makeup movement has been around for years but has recently found new momentum, thanks in part to Anderson’s refreshingly bare appearances at events like the Golden Globes and BAFTAs.

In a 2023 interview with Elle, Anderson shared that her decision was deeply personal. After losing her longtime makeup artist and close friend, Alexis Vogel, to breast cancer, she felt it was more authentic to go without. “It’s freeing, fun, and rebellious,” she said. “Everyone was doing these big makeup looks—and it’s just like me to go the opposite way.”

And honestly? I love to see it.
