That's a dramatic change

The Met Gala is back, and as always, fashion’s biggest night brought the drama. On Monday, May 5, stars took over the steps of the Metropolitan Museum of Art for an evening celebrating this year’s theme: "Superfine: Tailoring Black Style," a tribute to Black excellence in fashion.

One surprise standout? Pamela Anderson, who not only showed up in a sparkly Tory Burch gown and Pandora jewels—but also debuted a bold new haircut.

Known for her long, beachy waves, Pamela switched things up with a sharp blonde bob and baby bangs. The style? A modern take on the pageboy cut—a look that’s been around for centuries, but had a major moment in the '70s and '80s. It was famously rocked by none other than Princess Diana, along with stars like Dorothy Hamill and Toni Tennille. Even The Beatles and Luke Skywalker got in on the look, making it one of the most gender-neutral cuts in hair history.

According to hairstylist David Connor, owner of Anti-Gravity Salon in New Orleans, the pageboy is super versatile. “It’s typically worn ear- to shoulder-length, with the ends curled under and straight-across bangs to create that rounded shape,” he told PureWow earlier this year.

Pam first gave a sneak peek of the cut on May 2 at a Tory Burch Foundation event honoring Martha Stewart. She kept things low-key in a bucket hat that nearly covered her eyes—maybe a soft launch for those brand new, royal-approved bangs?
