We never spotted the likeness between Prince William and Princess Diana’s brother, Charles Spencer…until now.

Spencer recently shared a rare glimpse of Althorp House on his personal Instagram account. One of the photos features an old portrait of Spencer as a child, and he bears a striking resemblance to young Prince William.

The slideshow includes three never-before-seen photos of the library at Althorp House, which features floor-to-ceiling bookshelves. The last two photos show a close-up of one shelf, which has a childhood drawing of Spencer displayed in front of it.

The caption read, “In a quiet corner of the Library at @althorphouse—above a childhood pastel of me, in fact—I’ve just placed leather-bound copies of the eight books I’ve written so far (another is on its way). I don’t expect future generations to read them, but hopefully their handsome spines will blend in gently, in this most beautiful of rooms.”

It didn’t take long for us to notice the likeness between Spencer and young Prince William. When compared to this old photo of the Duke of Cambridge, the family resemblance is evident.

This isn’t the first time Spencer has shared a sneak peek of Althorp House on social media. Last year, he posted a throwback photo of the royal residence that was taken over 100 years ago. “The Old Breakfast Room, at @althorphouse, in 1892—the year in which my grandfather Jack Spencer was born,” he wrote. “This room no longer exists, its main wall being pulled down to join it to its neighboring Raphael Room.”

Those Spencer genes are dominant.
