Charles Spencer Shared a Rare Photo of Princess Diana's Teenage Home that Was Taken Over 100 Years Ago

As royal followers, Charles Spencer's Instagram account has become one that we keep our eyes on closely.

The history buff and best-selling author is always digging up gems from his family's past and even finding vintage pictures that show a connection between his lineage and the British royal family. But in addition to all of this, the 9th Earl Spencer was also the younger brother of Princess Diana—so every once in a while, he shares a rare photo of the late princess or some aspect of her past.

This week, Spencer posted an antique pic of Althorp House, which is his current residence and the teenage home of the Princess of Wales. Spencer captioned the post, “The Old Breakfast Room, at @althorphouse, in 1892 - the year in which my grandfather Jack Spencer was born.”

Spencer's photo is rare for a specific reason, which he explained, saying, “This room no longer exists, its main wall being pulled down to join it to its neighbouring Raphael Room.”

Spencer likes to share pictures of Althorp on his Instagram, typically capturing the outside of the buildings around sunset. He also enjoys presenting the many majestic animals that roam the grounds, like Tim the Peacock.

Although Princess Diana moved out of Althorp when she got engaged to Prince Charles, the grounds are the site of her final resting place.

We love knowing that the 9th Earl Spencer is still connected to his sister, even now.
