Princess Diana’s Brother Unveils Portrait of Their Dad (and Fans Think He Looks Like Prince George)

It always reminds us how strong the royal genes are whenever we see the striking resemblance between members of the British royal family and their distant relatives. (We can’t be the only ones who think Princess Charlotte looks like the spitting image of Princess Diana’s niece, Lady Kitty Spencer, right?)

A couple of weeks back, Princess Di’s younger brother, Charles Spencer, 59, shared a throwback photo of their late father, John Spencer, on his Instagram page. And many royal enthusiasts quickly pointed out the uncanny similarities between the 8th Earl Spencer and his great-grandchild, Prince George. 

Royal admirers (and history buffs alike) were treated to a framed photograph of the former military officer, which was taken during the 1950s. While sporting a sleek hairstyle with a neat side part, John looks rather dashing in a checkered blazer with a collared shirt and tie in the black-and-white picture. 

Charles captioned the post, “My father, perfectly framed.#father #blackandwhite #photoframe #spencerfamily #1950s.”

In the comments section, Charles’s followers couldn’t get over John sharing similar facial features to Kate Middleton and Prince William’s oldest son. One person wrote, “Prince George looks a lot like his great-grandfather.” Another said, “Wow, you look just like him, and so does your great-nephew George!!” 

One particular commenter could see the resemblance between the courtier and his grandchild, Prince Harry, as well, writing, “So handsome. I see Harry too in him!”

Now, this has happened before. Back in August, Charles shared an old sketch of a distant family member named Charlotte Spencer. The historic drawing was shared on X (formerly known as Twitter) and Charles wrote in the caption, “Lovely sketch of Charlotte Spencer (1835-1903), in profile, from an album at ⁦@AlthorpHouse.”⁩
