Charles Spencer Shares Extremely Rare Photo of His Daughter (and She Looks Just Like Her Aunt Princess Diana)

While Charles Spencer (aka Princess Diana’s younger brother) embarks on the press tour for his new memoir, A Very Private School, the 9th Earl Spencer is celebrating the release of his book with one of his top supporters: his youngest daughter, Lady Lara Spencer, who apparently looks like the spitting image of her late aunt. 

Last week on Instagram, the 59-year-old author shared a candid photo of himself and his daughter. In the pic, Charles Spencer is beaming next to 18-year-old Lara, who leans down to hug her father as he holds a copy of A Very Private School with a pen in hand. And if that isn’t enough, the father-daughter duo is clearly having themselves a twin moment with their matching black ensembles.

In the caption, Charles Spencer wrote, “My darling daughter Lara supporting me at my book launch on Thursday - but today we are all going to celebrate brilliant, dazzling, HER: for it’s Lara’s 18th birthday today. So much love, my darling….”

In the comments section, Charles Spencer’s followers couldn’t help but notice the striking resemblance between Lady Lara and her late aunt, Princess Diana. Lady Lara is practically a carbon copy of the former Princess of Wales, from her eyes to her bright smile. 

One person wrote under the post, “Wow, she looks like her aunt Diana!” Meanwhile, another user chimed in and said, “She’s so like Diana [heart emoji.]” 

In the new memoir (which just hit bookstore shelves on March 12), the history buff recounts his boarding school days. Back in October 2023, the 9th Earl Spencer and Gallery Books (aka the book’s publisher) announced the memoir in a joint post on Instagram. The caption read, “In this poignant memoir, Charles Spencer, recounts the trauma of being sent away from home at age eight to attend boarding school.”
