Clarence House shared Bowles’s favorite summer books along with a few quotes from the duchess herself. We don’t know about you, but we love a royally approved reading list.

“I am delighted to share a few more of my favourite books. At present, it might be ambitious to describe them as ‘beach reads,’ but I very much hope they provide a welcome bit of escapism,” she said in a statement.
This wasn’t the first time the Duchess of Cornwall shared a list of her go-to books. Back in April, she shared nine titles to read during quarantine from authors like Charles Dickens, Philip Pullman and Elizabeth Jane Howard, to name a few.
Now, she’s back with five more books (and why she loves each one so much):
Mix 19th century fiction, mystery thriller and suspense and you’ve got yourself a detective novel that will keep you on your toes. Looks like the duchess loves following clues as much as we do.
Learn about loss and redemption through the eyes of Boko Haram girls. This novel is sure to give you a better understanding of the violence and destruction that you might not see in a textbook.
Staying on the thriller train. The duchess recommended not one book, but the whole series to binge-read. Take a dive through book one—Dead Simple—and immerse yourself in Roy Grace’s world as he tries to solve complicated cases.
Bowles-Parker is not above royal fiction. Loosely based on a royal scandal of the 1780s, this novel looks into the Marie Antoinette and the unpredictable roller coaster of the royal family (fictionalized, of course).
