Ben Lawson Was on a Legal Drama with His ‘Firefly Lane’ Co-Star, Katherine Heigl

Firefly Lane is like a ‘who’s who’ of famous TV stars, with Sarah Chalke (Scrubs) and Katherine Heigl (Grey's Anatomy) leading the cast, in addition to other stars like General Hospital's Ignacio Serricchio (apparently everyone from this series has been on a medical show).

But, since the first part of Firefly Lane season 2 premiered earlier this month, we've been doing a little digging to see what else actor Ben Lawson (aka Johnny Ryan) was in prior to the hit Netflix series. And it turns out he's been in shows with *two* famous Grey's actresses (one of them being Heigl).

Lawson was a part of the hit Netflix series 13 Reasons Why, where he joined the second season as the supportive baseball coach, Rick Wlodimierz. On this series, he starred alongside Kate Walsh, who played a mother named Olivia Baker. (You likely know Walsh for her roles as Dr. Addison Montgomery on Grey's and Madeline Wheeler on Emily in Paris.)

But while it's interesting to find out Lawson starred alongside this beloved Grey's actress, we were even more intrigued to discover that Lawson was previously on a show with his current Firefly Lane co-star, Heigl.

Prior to their time on Firefly Lane, the pair each had roles on Doubt, a legal drama that aired for one season on CBS in 2017 (not to be confused with the Oscar-nominated movie of the same name starring Meryl Streep).

On Doubt, Heigl played protagonist Sadie Ellis, a defense attorney at an elite New York firm, while Lawson played the city's district attorney, Peter Garrett.

Who knew there were all these connections between the Firefly Lane cast and the Grey's Anatomy cast?
