The New ‘13 Reasons Why’ Trailer Is All Sorts of Bone-Chilling

Another season, another mysterious death. The new 13 Reasons Why season three trailer is here, and this time around we only have one question: Who killed Bryce Walker?

Netflix’s dark drama returns to the perpetually chaotic Liberty High this season. But instead of examining the reasons for Hannah Baker’s (Katherine Langford) suicide, the series will delve into another unexpected young death, that of star athlete and disliked bully, Bryce Walker (Justin Prentice).

As you’ll remember, Bryce sexually assaulted Hannah before her passing, so there’s plenty of motive and a horde of suspects. The trailer (above) shows how the murder mystery will evolve throughout the season and reveals that no one, not even Bryce’s family is safe from speculation.

In the season description, Netflix teases, “in the aftermath of the Homecoming game all of the friends have something to hide. As the mystery of his death engulfs the town, there are numerous suspects in focus. But were any of them truly capable of murder? And who is the new girl? Police are determined to get to the truth, but with a web of secrets and lies this tangled, will anyone be found guilty?”

So, who done it? Many fans were quick to point out on the YouTube comment section that Bryce’s mom, Nora (Brenda Strong), looks far too calm in the trailer. Could this mean she’s responsible for the death of her own son? There’s also, of course, Hannah’s mother Olivia (Kate Walsh), who would have lots of motivation to seek vengeance.

There are many suspects, but only one will be found guilty when season three hits Netflix on next Friday, August 23.
