Arie Luyendyk Jr. and Lauren Burnham have barely been parents for a day, and they’re already fighting over who their new daughter, Alessi, resembles more.
In an all-new interview with Us Weekly, the Bachelor couple opened up about their first few hours as parents and proudly revealed that she’s a combination of them both.
“It’s amazing to see this tiny person that is half of each of us,” they said. “She has dad’s hands and fingernails and [a] lot of mom’s facial features. We are still at the hospital, but we are excited to bring her home soon!”
Although they’ve experienced a whirlwind of emotions, the couple confirmed they couldn’t be happier. “We never knew we could experience a love like this,” they added. “We cried, we laughed and we are so happy she is healthy and doing so well.”
Luyendyk Jr. and Burnham welcomed their baby girl on Wednesday, May 29. After posting a series of photos and videos documenting their time at the hospital, the former Bachelor revealed his new daughter’s name: Alessi Ren Luyendyk.
“This was first time she laid eyes on me and I’m forever changed,” he wrote on Instagram. “I’m so proud of @laureneburnham. You’re truly incredible and did so good today.”
The couple met on season 22 of The Bachelor. Although Luyendyk Jr. originally proposed to Becca Kufrin, he later broke off the engagement to pursue his runner-up, Burnham.
Hey, at least they won’t argue over who she looks more like.
