Anne Hathaway Recreated This ‘Devil Wears Prada’ Look for NYFW and Fans Ate It Up

New York Fashion Week wrapped up this past Wednesday, September 14, but it wasn't one of the runway looks that caught everyone's attention. Instead, it was an outfit worn by one of the celebrity attendees—Anne Hathaway.

The 39-year-old star showed up to the Michael Kors fashion show in an outfit that appeared to be stolen straight out of the closet of her Devil Wears Prada character, Andy Sachs.

For the event, Hathaway chose a black, ribbed turtleneck, which she layered under a brown croc-embossed, knee-length leather jacket. She rounded out the fit with a pair of matching pumps.

Quickly, fans recognized that this was almost an exact copy of an outfit her character wears in The Devil Wears Prada (as seen below). Not only did she seem to emulate the outfit, but Hathaway also styled her hair in a high ponytail with bangs—a look which her character rocks as well.

This was the perfect arena for Hathaway to make a nod to her fashion-forward hit movie. And while she grabbed headlines for her ensemble, Hathaway was also surrounded by famous friends.

Right next to the Ocean's 8 star was Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour, and to the right of Wintour was tennis superstar Serena Williams. The group sat together in the front row of the show.

Twitter users couldn't get over the recreation, like one person who wrote, “Anne Hathaway recreating her DEVIL WEARS PRADA look while sitting next to Anna Wintour is actually iconic.” Another tweeted, “#AnneHathaway is serving Andy Sachs realness.”

Well played, Anne.
