Back in the day, small kitchen appliances were nothing more than clunky eyesores (that you wouldn’t dare to leave on your countertop when the in-laws came to town). Nowadays, however, we’ve entered a whole new era: beautiful countertop appliances that are statement-making on their own.

For those who don’t know, each year, KitchenAid selects a different hue that speaks to this year’s color themes. And after seeing the explosion of Barbie pink in interiors—along with Benjamin Moore’s color of the year— it makes sense why KitchenAid would select Hibiscus as its “winner” for 2023. Across the board, this year’s color trends seem to carry an undertone of boldness and adventure—and that’s exactly what KitchenAid’s vivid fuchsia delivers to your countertops.

“It celebrates extravagance and free-spirited adventure in the kitchen,” the brand states on its website. “Inspired by the captivating beauty of Hibiscus flowers in a verdant garden, this eye-catching fuchsia is bound to stand out on your countertop—just as it does in nature.”

“We've been tracking the evolution of the color pink since 2017,” Brittni Pertijs, KitchenAid’s lead color, material and finish designer, also adds in a press release. “Beginning with Millennial Pink and advancing to deeper hues as of late, pink is bringing boldness to life in its color and energy. We took that as the spark to create Hibiscus. Hibiscus is a color that draws us to something exciting.”

To that end, Hibiscus has arrived just in time for spring—and it’s available in the brand’s best-selling Artisan Series Stand Mixer ($500) and K400 Blender ($300). And they're both more than a pretty color—the mixer includes a premium accessory pack and both 3- and 5-quart mixing bowls, so you can easily make medium and large batches (or cake batter and frosting without pausing to wash a bowl). As for the blender, well, it can break down everything from kale to almonds, and it includes a Soft Start feature to minimize splatters.

‘Tis the season to beautiful blooms and beautiful appliances.
