Yeah, yeah, so it’s fall. The breeze is picking up, the days are getting shorter and there’s a pumpkin spice latte everywhere you look. But if you’re like me, you’re more excited about Girl Scout Cookie season than autumn. And if so, you’ll be psyched to know that there’s a new sandwich cookie joining the 2026 lineup: Exploremores.
There’s a New Girl Scout Cookie This Season (& It Couldn’t Be More Nostalgic)
On my honor, I will try not to eat the whole box

Inspired by rocky road ice cream, the treat stars two chocolate cookies filled with crème, complete with notes of chocolate, marshmallow and toasted almond. Its release comes on the heels of a discontinuation of two iconic cookie varieties, Girl Scout S’mores (which were graham sandwich cookies with chocolaty- and marshmallow-flavored filling) and Toast-Yay! (icing-coated French Toast cookies).

As a longtime fan (specifically of Tagalongs and Samoas, TYVM), I had to try the rookie cookie as soon as possible. The chocolate in the filling and cookies alike dominates the overall flavor. The cookies are sort of like Oreos without the salt. The marshmallow is super subtle; it gives a vanilla-kissed note to the rest of the cookie. The almond is very tame, too. There’s definitely a nutty earthiness that comes through, but it’s not giving straight-up marzipan either.
As always, you’ll be able to buy cookies through the Girl Scout Cookie Program, whether you know someone in a troop or not. You can also text “Cookies” to 59618 to get the latest Girl Scout Cookie news, and hopefully be notified once you can order. Sales usually start in January and run through spring, so mark your calendar now for future deliciousness.
