Whenever I want an up-close view of what's actually trending, I take a look at what PureWow readers are shopping. What can I say? You guys have great taste. And lately, you've been buying up one specific style of pants like crazy—those with stretchy fabric, ankle length and pintuck detail down the front. They seem to check every box: comfortable, easy to wear and dressy enough for both work and play. Not to mention great for travel. Since pintuck pants have quickly become a favorite amongst you savvy stylers, I just had to see what all the hype was about for myself.

I put three popular pairs of pintuck pants to the test, ranging from a $128 pair from Anthropologie to a now-$20 style from Old Navy. Find all my thoughts (and pics!) below.

I knew these pants would be a favorite for fall the second I took them out of the mailer. They have a super stretchy feel to them, which I appreciate as someone who values comfort over anything else when it comes to pants of any kind, and a smooth fit. Plus, they have an elastic waist and pull-on style that only adds to their comfort. The petite inseam was perfect for my 5'2'' height, and I feel like the length works well with any type of shoe, from sneakers to boots and flats. They also have a mid-rise cut that's easy to pair with plenty of tops and sweaters, so I know I'll get a lot of wear out of them. If you can't already tell, I'd definitely recommend snagging these whether you're shopping for casual or workwear.

These pants from Quince fit a bit tighter than I was expecting, so if you're in between sizes I'd recommend going with the larger. Otherwise, I loved the lightweight feel of these and the fact that the slimmer fit makes them great for tucking into a trendy pair of knee-high boots this season. These bottoms have an invisible zipper at the side, which blends in perfectly and hasn't felt uncomfortable for me the way some other side zippers do. The pintuck detail on this style is slightly more subtle than the others on this list, so they'd make a great option if you want to test out the style to decide if it's right for you.

These pants surprised me. They have a much more polished look (that's still super comfortable, and almost feels as good as sweatpants) than I was expecting, which makes them the perfect pick for going from the office to dinner. The fabric is also pretty thick, so they should be warm enough to wear in the winter, too. As for the waistband, it's a pull-on style that's easy to get on and off. If you can't already tell, these are a "yes" from me, and since they happen to be on major sale right now, I'll be going back for more colors.
