Checkerboard Vans have been a classic sneaker choice for decades, but Pinterest is predicting the pattern will soon be everywhere, not just on our feet. Checkerboard knitwear, denim, handbags and even nail art are on the rise in every color combo imaginable. To be honest, pearls will never actually be out of style, but there is nuance to how to best wear them at any given time. This year is all about the unexpected pearl, in terms of shape, design, color and placement. Think pearl-adorned clothing, baroque necklace charms and mismatched pearl earrings. Pearl necklaces for men are also on the rise, largely thanks to celebs like Harry Styles, A$AP Rocky and Shawn Mendes, who have all been photographed in the classic piece in the past year. Your angsty teenage past called, and it wants another chance to perfect the goth aesthetic. Yes, the dark punk style is back (trust us, we are equally surprised), but with a decidedly more fashionable twist. Pinterest users aren’t just looking to rewear their favorite Hot Topic T-shirts, they’re searching for fun ways to make the trend feel a bit more polished. “Goth business casual”, “goth cowboy” and even “goth pajamas” are all trending, as are goth hair and beauty looks. Our love affair with loungewear is still going strong as we dive into 2022, but we’re not just recycling the same old tie-dye sweatsuits and cashmere sets from the past few years. According to Pinterest, this year is all about lounge lingerie, or loungerie for short. The trend combines the ease and comfort of lounge attire with the sex appeal and luxury feel of lingerie.
