The most wonderful time of the year has arrived, and no, we're not talking about Christmas. The Madewell Black Friday sale is here with a 40 percent discount on select styles with coupon code LETSGO through Nov. 22. This is the perfect opportunity to get your gift shopping done early (even if you're at the top of your own list—we won't tell), since plenty of coatssweaters and scarves are on sale. Of course, we're filling our carts as we speak, starting with the PureWow reader-favorite leather Transport tote (was $178, now $107) Wyckoff leather Chelsea boots (was $198, now $86) and this relaxed cardigan (was $98, now $59) that reminds us a lot of a certain Jenni Kayne best seller—but more on that in a minute.

After spending hours scouring the site for la crème de la crème styles, here are 13 pieces we’re adding to our carts ASAP. Just be sure to act fast, because in our experience, items usually sell out quickly during Madewell sales.

Now’s your chance to get your hands on this PureWow reader-favorite Madewell accessory. We’re talking about the brand’s signature tote, which is crafted from an ultra-smooth fine leather that’ll feel just as luxurious as it looks. It’s 14.75 inches in height by 14 inches wide by 6.25 inches in depth, so it can fit all your everyday essentials, including a laptop, keys, phone, wallet and so much more—but don’t just take our word for it. Wrote one shopper: “[I decided to] treat myself to a new bag for work. [It’s] durable, spacious—fits my 14-inch laptop, folders, notebook, pens, etc.—[and] very comfortably.” There’s even an interior side zip pocket that’ll keep your most important items safe. What’s more, you can personalize it with initials to make the sweetest gift to yourself or a loved one.

madewell black friday sale Madewell The Perfect Vintage Wide Leg Jean

If there are any jeans you want to buy during the Madewell Black Friday Sale, it's this stretchy pair. "These are the perfect wide-leg jeans,” raves one Madewell reviewer. “The black is not faded looking [and] I can bend over without [having to] pull my top down to cover my back. And the stretch [of the denim] moves with me and doesn’t cut into [my waist]. The length is spot on and doesn’t drag on the ground, which I find is a common problem with most wide legs.” Thanks to their cotton and elastane denim fabric, these should have a nice stretch and breathability to them. But, as PureWow’s fashion editor Abby Hepworth predicted earlier this year, it's the wide legs that give them huge potential to become your go-to jeans.

Seeing this classic knit cardigan for the first time was love at first sight. We immediately noticed the slightly oversized fit, which makes it great for layering over any top (Jenni Kayne Coocoon cardigan, $372, vibes, anyone?) and it has wool in its fabric, which is known for its warming properties. One impressed buyer liked the way it draped so much that she bought a second cardi, saying, "I like the weight and quality of the cardigan. It has a touch of itch, but nothing serious.”

Ballet flats are the talk of the town this season, and the Anelise is a great option for those who want a slight twist on a classic leather style shape. “I love the more modern squared toe,” writes one Madewell customer who went on to rave about the leather’s flexibility and softness. “It's not overly exaggerated at all like I've seen with some others.” They’re also made with the brand’s famous Cloudlift Lite padding, so you can bet they’re extremely comfortable to wear and walk in, too.

Puffer coats are still reigning supreme in 2023, and buyers have mentioned that this quilted nylon number is as warm, soft and cozy as it looks. That's because it's padded with the brand’s PrimaLoft insulation filling alternative that’s made from 100 percent recycled content to keep you from freezing. With detachable and zip-off features, the jacket can be worn a ton of ways, as one customer discovered. “It turns from a slightly cropped puffer jacket with a removable hood to this cool vest,” she enthused. According to the reviewer, there’s an adjustable bungee string at the hem that can make the coat less or more voluminous and hidden zip pockets.

These Chelsea boots will get lots of wear this winter, and thanks to the chunky lug sole, they should have great traction and grip. Unlike your traditional Chelsea boots, this pull-on style features more height in the shaft that’ll look great with skirts, over stockings or under jeans. The leather upper and lining is easy-to-clean a simple spot method. Better yet, the interior of the shoe boasts a next-to-none cushioned padding your feet will appreciate.

A cozy scarf you can wrap around your body (it's 81 inches long and 10 inches wide) will come in handy all season long, whether you're working from home, chilling at your friend's house or taking a long drive. This one's made from a wool blend that’s meant to feel warm and it’ll layer under coats or above sweaters nicely. It just might make a great stocking stuffer, too.

This waffle-knit version of the henley sweater features a relaxed fit and preppy polo-style collar. The dropped shoulders add a nice touch, not to mention plenty of breathing room for the underarms. We especially adore how the ribbed hem gathers at the waist, showing off its oversized-yet-tapered structure. The cozy organic cotton and merino wool blend should feel soft to the touch, but more impressively, it’s still machine-washable, so you can wear it on repeat. One reviewer suggests opting for a size down for a more tailored fit.

Beanies make great gifts, so it wouldn't be a bad idea to snag a few of these to give out this Christmas. You'll probably want one for yourself, too, since it's made of a super soft brushed acrylic fabric, which will keep your head and ears warm. We love this creamy beige color, but it also comes in a bright chartreuse and cool blue hue.

In addition to its relaxed, dropped shoulder detailing, this pullover features side-seam slits at its high-low hem, which breaks up the boxiness with some movement and shape—especially along the side of the hips. We suggest sticking to your usual size for a true fit or sizing up one if you want it to sit slightly longer on your frame, since many reviews note that it runs short, especially for those with longer torsos. “This sweater was a lot more cropped than I expected. [It’s] very cute, [is made with the] perfect material and I love the boxiness,” one buyer wrote.

Made of a lightweight and machine-washable cotton fabric, this poplin button-up shirt has an oversized fit and traditional design details for a classic, relaxed look that works for any occasion. The cuffed sleeves and elongated hem length take it to the next level. The brand and reviews suggest the blouse runs large, though, so you may want to go down a size, especially if you’re petite.

100 percent recycled polyester makes up this versatile and faux shearling pullover. It comes with a zip kangaroo pocket that’ll keep your hands warm and essentials safe while on a walk, and the entire piece is machine-washable. People who live in colder climates will appreciate the wind-blocking neckline, and those who run warm—especially when wearing thick, furry jackets—will love the breathable mesh lining that’s designed to keep the sweating at bay.

Who says mini dresses are out of season? Not Madewell. Case in point: this pinstripe mini dress that’s made from a recycled Italian wool blend (hello, warmth) and features a fashionable square neckline. The fitted number will look exquisite on its own or over a cozy long-sleeve shirt and stockings, similar to how the brand styles it here.
