“I love simple sweater tanks for spring because they can so easily be worn on their own or layered when it's cooler in the mornings and nights,” says Natalie LaBarbera, assistant commerce editor at PureWow. “This one looks like the perfect length to pair with high-waist pants or skirts, too.” That’s all thanks to its slightly cropped fit—or more specifically, its 18.75-inch length—which hits just above the hip. So whether you wear these with a pair of low- or mid-rise baby blues or tucked into a pair of work-appropriate trousers, you can expect this versatile vest to cooperate accordingly. Oh, and did we mention it’s crafted with an eco-friendly Tencel-lyocell material that’s produced from wood pulp derived from sustainable (i.e., not ancient or endangered) forests?

Some sheer sparkle is just what you need for a transitional piece in the spring. PureWow's Associate Fashion Editor, Stephanie Meraz agrees: “This skirt boasts the comfortability of a slip satin skirt but features the cutest sheer overlay and beaded embellishment design that really makes this look stunning. There are so many ways you can style it, but I’d personally wear it with a cropped white baby tee, a barn jacket and flats with socks."

The chic piece is embellished with floral silver sequins and beads, with a shorter slip lining underneath to add some definition. P.S. There's also a matching top to make your whole look shimmer.

Leopard print and a funky box shape? Say no more. This might be the spring bag of your 90s dreams. "I've been on the hunt for the perfect leopard print handbag, and this one might be just the ticket! It's such a good size and the gold chain straps give it an elevated touch I adore," says PureWow's Fashion Editor, Abby Hepworth. Just note that I've had some issues with the calf hair rubbing off my J.Crew bag—so treat it with extra care. It also comes in a snakeskin silver and black pattern.

I’ll always be keen on this capsule staple, and J.Crew’s most recent version of their signature trench coat is the perfect mix of timeless and modern. It blends traditional elements, like a double-breasted closure, removable belt at the waist and a water-repellent cotton canvas fabric, with elevated details, such as exaggerated storm flaps and a menswear-inspired straight silhouette. Angelenos have already embraced the sophisticated outerwear during the record-breaking rainfalls, and New York-based PureWow Associate SEO Editor Marissa Wu is following suit as she begins to plan beyond her puffer coat rotation. She says, “I still don't have a trench coat in my wardrobe, but with spring on the way I'm looking for something lighter than my uniform wool coat. I’m loving how this feels like it's classic and timeless (my two wardrobe checklists) while still feeling fresh.”

The '90s are calling: It's time to embrace the slip dress. This frock has some subtle lace along the hem and top for some added sweetness. It's also made of an Italian bi-stretch wool blend that makes it a little heavier for those chilly spring transition days. Throw on a cardi with it for the office or show off those shoulders for date night. Our fashion editor agrees: "This dress is so '90s coded in the best way imaginable. I love its versatility too," Hepworth says.

The fuzzy brushed cashmere material from J.Crew is ideal for a cozy cardi that’ll make one heck of a transitional sweater come spring. This sweater is wearable whether you’re inside or outside, and the bold teal is totally a conversation starter. I also love that you can layer it with a dress or a tee or keep things classy fully buttoned. It's totally versatile and a must for every wardrobe.

I've been seeing bows on tie-front cardigans but now it's time to use them to elevate a blouse—in both pattern and embellishment. PureWow's Associate Editor Destinee Scott finds it to be a versatile piece for a casual day at the office or for dressing up. "I'm a sucker for tops with bows. They're just so feminine and elegant and flowy, and this style has all those qualities and then some. I can see myself wearing the top with jeans one day and under a sweater or cardigan to show off the bow the next day." The neck tie is also removable incase you just want a classic button down look or you can go all out with the matching skirt.

It’s time to refresh those plain white tees with this Pima cotton essential. It’s made from the company’s brand-new soft premium Peruvian cotton fabric that’s constructed to feel subtly silky. The shirt is machine washable, though we suggest you air dry it or opt for one size up if you plan on throwing it in the dryer, as we anticipate the 100 percent cotton will shrink in the heat. The classic crewneck has a relaxed, straight fit that’ll complement almost every bottom, from denim cut-offs to midi skirts to double waistband pants. Pro tip: They go on sale often and I always buy them in different colors when they do!

Elevated athleisure is one of the bigger trends this spring, and these comfortable satin pants are a good alternative to the yoga pants you've been wearing. "I’ve also been seeing London girlies wearing track pants like this J.Crew beauty with Adidas Sambas and thick fur coats, and to say it looks cool as can be is an understatement," says Meraz. "Not to mention, it’s such a comfortable option to wear with its elastic waistband and silky fabric." Pair it with a crop top for that cool girl vibe or go extra cozy with sweats on top. It also comes in classic, petite and tall sizing so you can find your perfect fit.

This classic boatneck shirt pairs well with both the coastal prep and pastel trends we've been seeing this spring. It's also a lightweight shirt that's perfect for those chilly but not too cold days. "I feel like I have owned a million boat neck, stripped shirts and have never liked them," writes one review. "This one is great! Nice length, not too short and not too long." Pair it with a skirt to emulate the tenniscore vibe or a white—because you don't need to wait until Memorial Day to rock that combo.

If you’re anything like me, then you’re likely shopping for all the lightweight jackets that’ll keep you warm on breezy nights but not make you sweat bullets in the sun-soaked afternoons. The denim jacket is the ultimate spring transition layer and it comes in a dark and light wash depending on your vibe. I love the stitched detailing throughout the jacket as well as the large silver buttons that pop—and make it a bit easier to button when needed.

This double-breasted sport jacket is a surprisingly lightweight blazer comprised of an elastane and lenzing ecovero viscose fabric “that’s sourced from responsibly managed forests and produced with less water and lower emissions,” per the company, making it an ideal seasonal replacement for your heavier winter wools. But that's not all: “[It has a] great cut, fit and nice lightweight fabric. [It’s] exactly what I wanted to wear with a slip dress or jeans and a tank,” one customer shared in a review. It has a slight oversize fit, making it a versatile layering piece for blouses or sweaters, but if you prefer a tailored, slim silhouette, opt for one size down from your usual.
