Best Quilted Longline Jacket

1. Zella Skyline Longline Quilted Jacket

Zella

This jacket is lined with recycled polyester, making it lightweight, pillowy-soft and sustainable. Its light material is also ideal for warmer fall days, and the brand is known for athletic wear, so it’s equally great for morning jogs around the neighborhood, too. Plus, its long silhouette fits a bit oversized, so you can totally add a light sweater underneath for those colder nighttime strolls.

Best Faux Fur Jacket

2. Sam Edelman Faux Fur Jacket

Sam Edelman

This Sam Edelman pick is the most chic and coziest of fall coats. It’s crafted with 100 percent polyester faux fur that’s velvety-soft and plush. It’s stylish over a crisp white tee, but oversized enough to layer over a thick sweater for those cooler fall nights. With the spread collar and side-seam pockets, I’m eyeing the ‘Cafe Noir’ color because it gives major retro vibes.

Best Leather Jacket

3. Levi's Faux Leather Moto Jacket

Levi's

Nothing makes an outfit cooler than a soft-as-butter, faux leather moto jacket. This design has all of the elements that make the piece so iconic, from the front zip closure to the notched lapels and slanted side pockets. It also hits right above the waist, a length that looks oh-so fabulous with some high-waist, wide-leg jeans or trousers. Shoppers say the stylish piece of outerwear is very flattering, comfortable and stretchy, too.

Best Quilted Jacket

4. Barbour Clydebank Quilted Jacket

Barbour

It’s a widely-known fact that the royals love Barbour; we’ve seen it on Princess Diana in the ‘80s and on Kate Middleton in the present day. Times may change, but the brand remains adored, especially by PureWow editors. It was even rumored that the Queen herself owned her favorite waxed Barbour coat for over 25 years—talk about durable and long-lasting. This lightweight quilted jacket with glossy buttons, curved hem and a classy corduroy collar. Let’s not forget it’s lined for warmth and features adjustable side snap vents to fit it to your liking. With the coat on impressive sale, now you can feel like royalty for a fraction of the price.

Best Crop Jacket

5. Bernardo Faux Shearling Crop Jacket

Bernardo

This crop jacket has an ultra-soft faux shearling trim that’s straight out of our fall fashion fantasies. It has a boxy silhouette, chest flap pockets and a cropped design you can rock for any occasion. Whether you choose the cream or light blue color, I can definitely see it becoming an essential in my wardrobe as temperatures drop, and its timeless design will be in style for many autumns to come.

Best Active Jacket

6. Zella Studio Luxe Active Jacket

Zella

If you’re looking for a transitional jacket, this one by Zella should be on your radar. Made of nylon, spandex and polyester, the stretchy fabric assures you can move comfortably during morning yoga or grabbing a warm autumn beverage. It’s also designed with front zip closure and pockets, along with thumbhole cuffs to keep your sleeves from riding up.

Best Twill Jacket

7. Sam Edelman Quilted Twill Jacket

Sam Edelman

I’m calling it now: this cozy brown number will surely become a fan-favorite this season. The lightweight fabric makes it the perfect early fall wardrobe staple. It’s crafted with faux-shearling trim for a relaxed fit. Plus, the spread collar and roomy front pockets pair well with any casual attire in your closet.

Best Trench Coat

8. BCBGMAXAZRIA Belted Corduroy Trench Coat

BCBGMAXAZRIA

Fact: A belt can elevate any coat and this chic outerwear is proof. The belt cinches the waist and accentuates your shape—regardless of whether you’re rocking a pair of fitted jeans or relaxed slacks. Made with 100 percent cotton, the soft material offers a comfortable fit. Aside from the belt (which is removable, btw), the jacket includes belted cuffs, double-breasted button closure, notched lapels and front welt pockets that’s oh-so chic.

Best Rain Jacket

9. Cole Haan Hooded Rain Jacket

Cole Haan

There’s nothing worse than being cold and wet. Luckily, jackets like this one from Cole Haan are designed to keep you dry on even the rainiest of days. It’s fully equipped with an adjustable drawcord for the hood (so you won’t have to worry about your hair getting ruined by the elements), as well as your waist for a comfortable fit. The lightweight fabric also makes it easy to fold up and throw it in a bag without it taking up too much space. Win-win.

Best Wrap Coat

10. Sam Edelman Fringe Wrap Coat

Sam Edelman

This gorgeous wrap coat is cut from a wool and polyester blend to keep you nice and toasty all season long. Its lengthy design features notched lapels and a removable tie belt as a figure-flattering addition—plus, a fringe hem that gives off ‘70s vibes. It comes in three colors, but I have my eye on the black hue for autumn. Bottom line: This is the kind of high-quality coat that’ll last decades.

Best Blazer

11. Avec Les Filles Patternblock Blazer

Avec Les Filles

What can I say, plaid has a permanent chokehold on my fall wardrobe. This patchwork blazer is made from 100 percent polyester, so it’s cozy and super casual for a crisp fall day. The oversize fit means you can wear it alone or as an additional layer when the weather gets cooler. Plus, the sleeves have three-button cuffs, so you can roll ‘em up while you’re sipping on that pumpkin spice latte.

Most Luxurious Coat

12. Fleurette Maxi Loro Piana Wool & Cashmere Coat

Fleurette

Hellooooo, effortless elegance. This luxurious find is 90 percent wool and 10 percent cashmere, so you’re set all season long. It has notched lapels, a front button closure and is lined to add some shape. The lengthy black silhouette also keeps you warm and toasty for those chilly days ahead.

Best Bomber Jacket

13. Levi’s Denim Bomber Jacket

Levi's

Bomber jackets will always be a trendy staple for fall, and I’m pining for this one from Levi’s. It’s made of 100 percent cotton, with button cuffs, spread collar and dropped shoulders that make it perfectly suited for date night or Saturday brunch. I also love the waist-length cut, so you can rock it with a nice pair of denim and your favorite turtleneck.

Best Puffer Jacket

14. Bernardo Crop Puffer Jacket

Bernardo

I had to include a puffer jacket on the list for those almost-winter days. It’s crafted with 100 percent EcoPlume, a recycled polyester material that’s meant to be soft, streamlined and stylish—not too bulky for fall—but will still keep you toasty come September. It also has a spread collar to add an extra layer of warmth and welt pockets to carry any essentials.

Best Suede Jacket

15. AllSaints Suede Moto Jacket

AllSaints

You can never have too many moto jackets in your closet, so adding this suede number to your collection is highly recommended. It’s designed with a front zip closure, notched lapels and a removable belt to give you the edge you need for the season ahead. The waist-length cut also offers a casual flair to any outfit, which shoppers say is both comfortable to wear and very flattering.

Best Peacoat

16. Fleurette Ali Wool Peacoat

Fleurette

It doesn’t get more flattering than a double-breasted peacoat. This Italian wool-blended outerwear is cozy yet totally on trend for the season. It has notched lapels, front flap pockets and a Martingale belt for a sculpted look. The 29 inch length also makes it perfect for a casual outing and you simply can’t beat the major $295 off discount.

Best Print Jacket

17. Bernardo Cow Print Faux Fur Jacket

Bernardo

In case you haven’t heard, cow print is in—and I found the perfect jacket to add to your collection. This cozy outerwear uses faux fur that’s cozy *and* fuzzy to the touch. Add in the spread collar, button cuffs and patch pockets and you have the trend nail for fall.

Most Lightweight Puffer

18. Save The Duck Caroline Puffer Jacket

Save The Duck

There’s your standard puffer coat and there’s this one from Save The Duck. The coat itself is made of 100 percent nylon, but its faux fur lining is what makes it stand out from the pack. It’s made from Plumtech, a special insulation material that’s known to mimic actual fur and provide thermal comfort. The puffer is also water-resistant and features a stand collar, so you’re well protected from head to toe.

Best Longline Coat

19. Nordstrom One-Button Long Coat

Nordstrom

I love waist-length coats, but there’s something about a longline coat that makes this petite feel a bit taller in ‘em. This Nordstrom original has all the stylish features I’m looking for in outerwear, from a deep V-neck to front welt pockets and a soft texture (thanks to the polyester, wool and cashmere blend). Plus, the black color will go nicely with the rest of my fall collection.

Top Rated

20. Barbour Lavender Hooded Coat

Barbour

Another Barbour that is loved by Nordstrom customers and I can definitely see the appeal. This waterproof coat has a drawcord hood and adjustable cuffs, along with a 43 inch length that will ensure you stay nice and dry on rainy days—plus, it’s made of lightweight material so you won’t be walking around with heavy outerwear even on the warmer days of the season. Note: Shoppers say it runs large, so consider sizing down for a comfortable fit.
