Colette, Bennet, Avery, Tobie, Bettina—for those Anthropologie obsessives in the know, this is more than just a list of cute names. They refer to cult-favorite pieces folks often buy in multiples (PureWow editors included). But did you know they’re also all part of Anthro’s in-house line, Maeve? Now, Anthropologie is making it easier to shop all your favorites by elevating Maeve to its own standalone brand.

That’s right, Maeve finally has its own digital storefront and independent socials, with plans for a brick-and-mortar store to open in Raleigh, NC, later this fall. And with this upgrade comes even more of the details and designs you love. Anthro plans to expand on Maeve’s offerings, building out a full wardrobe selection that builds on the impeccable fit and polished details we’ve come to expect from the brand. So to celebrate the launch, I went ahead and scoured the latest arrivals to cherry pick (and try on) nine must-have pieces you’re going to want to add to your wardrobe ASAP. Here, all the best Maeve pants, tops, dresses and more that are guaranteed to have you falling head over heels in love.

I consider myself something of a connoisseur when it comes to button-up shirts, and I can confirm this top seller is absolutely one of the best I’ve ever worn. Maeve manages to hit just the right note for so many factors—it’s oversized but not too schlubby; it’s got enough weight to fall beautifully and not appear sheer, but is also highly breathable; the sleeves are easy to roll or fold up, but also look fabulous buttoned at the cuff. Seriously, this is one spectacular shirt.

The Bennet is designed to have a slightly oversized fit and is longer in back than in front (great for tucking in). While I was very happy to go with my usual size medium, I think a small would have also fit nicely, just a bit more snug. That said, there is also petite sizing available from XXS to XL, as well as an adaptive version in the full size range (yes, including petite). That version of the Bennet has magnetic snaps in place of buttons, tabs on the cuffs to make it easier to roll them and higher shirttail slits for more comfort when sitting.

How do I even begin to explain my love for the Maeve Colette pants? This best-selling silhouette has earned not just my stamp of approval, but also the adoration of multiple petite and plus-size PureWow editors. The combination of a snug fit up around the waist and hips that gently flares into a wide leg around the calves is so supremely flattering, with just a hint of a retro vibe (an Anthropologie specialty). There are seemingly endless variations to shop now—including skirts, shorts and denim—but it was the corduroy that really makes my heart sing for fall.

The fabric is soft and lightweight with ample stretch to make that high waist as comfortable as possible. As someone with long legs but a short torso, I was torn between ordering the regular length or the tall, but ended up with the regular to ensure the waist didn’t go up too high. They are a smidge short, but there’s enough extra in the cuff that I could have them taken out. And they still look mighty chic with sandals or ballet flats as is.

Who can resist a cashmere sweater? Certainly not I, which is why I totally flipped over this supremely chic cardigan made of 100 percent cashmere. It wasn’t just the gorgeous burgundy color that drew me in (it also comes in an icy pale blue and a pinky beige), but also the fact that the covered buttons are a perfect color match. It just makes the whole thing look so very luxe. And, reader, it feels pretty damn luxurious, too.

I sized up here, opting for a large instead of a medium because I prefer a slightly baggier fit with my knits, and I wanted to ensure there was zero chance of any pulling between the buttons so I could wear it as a shirt. The color is even more dreamy IRL, and the fit is oh-so classic, meaning this is a cardigan I can wear for years and years to come. I will say, the buttons are a little fiddly, but not so much so that I found myself overly frustrated when playing around with the fit.

I chose to size up in this miniskirt because I was worried about the length and didn’t want it to fit too snugly around my hips, but now I think I likely could have stuck with my usual size and it would still have fit well. The skirt hung a bit lower on my hips in the larger size, but it’s designed to sit closer to your natural waist. Either way, the length struck a Goldilocks balance between sexy and sweet, still covering my bum without turning scandalous upon sitting down.

The fabric is light and lovely—you could definitely style this mini for the remaining hot days of summer, though I’m most looking forward to wearing it with tall boots and a chunky knit come fall. And that dainty lace trim gives the whole thing major ‘90s vibes in all the best ways. Fingers crossed Maeve comes out with additional colors/patterns soon!

Much like the Colette pants, the Avery trousers are also a cult-favorite style with overwhelmingly positive reviews. And as someone who already owns a pair in camel linen, I knew this sporty pinstripe version would be right up my alley. The fit is incredibly comfortable, with a high waist and roomy pleated leg. Much like the corduroy Colettes, the regular length worked perfectly fine on my 5’9” frame, though I may ultimately get them taken down a bit to wear with heels.

The navy blue is a bit brighter in person than it appears online, but is still dark enough to easily pair with a wide range of colors, not to mention other neutrals. As for sizing, my usual fit quite well, but there is little to no stretch in the waistband. So if you’re deciding between two sizes, I’d recommend going with the larger of the two.

A T-shirt so nice, I bought it twice. Yes, I now own this smocked top in two different colors (peep the white version below), the fit is just that fabulous. I love the ease of a solid-colored tee, but sometimes a regular cotton style just feels more boring than elegantly simple. Enter this cutie! The fit is super comfortable and conforms well to my curves without feeling clingy or riding up throughout the day. And the flared cap sleeves are incredibly flattering, while still offering some coverage on my shoulders.

This shirred T-shirt is made of a breathable cotton blend and comes in a whole range of beautiful colors to choose from. I’ll also note that the white did not appear see-through in the slightest, though I’d still suggest wearing a nude bra underneath. Just be sure to lay it flat to dry after washing (in cold water!) to avoid twisting or shrinking that gorgeous smocking detail in the bodice.

You didn’t think I’d stop at recommending just one pair of Colette pants, did you? While the cords are a fantastic pick for fall and winter, this ruffled version is an all-season design I am truly obsessed with. It’s made of a material Anthro has dubbed “Magic Fabric” for its ability to sculpt and stretch without feeling overly compressive or bagging out. It feels like a lightweight cotton, but has a good deal of stretch to really hug your curves in all the best ways. And the waist is made all the more flattering with a hidden zipper closure in back instead of the traditional front fly.

The cropped length is still fairly long, so I feel confident pairing these cuties with boots, loafers, heels or flats. And while the fabric and pocket details up top are giving office vibes, the ruffle detail at the hem adds just enough kitsch to feel fun but not too twee.

From the moment I pulled this dress out of the box I knew it was going to become a fast favorite. As a tall woman, I was originally a bit nervous about the length—mini tent dresses are not always my friends, especially on windy days—but it hit at a fantastic spot to make me feel supremely comfortable, even while sitting. The fabric has a great heft to it and feels almost like canvas (it’s also fully lined), but is not too heavy for a summer afternoon. That weight is also what makes the swingy silhouette fall in such a way as to not overwhelm your frame (yes, even if you’re petite).

And the scoop in back! So elegant, so flattering and surprisingly still bra friendly. I absolutely plan to wear this mini all year round, layered over a white button-up or tissue turtleneck in fall and winter with some knee-high boots. P.S. Stick with your usual size here, and don’t let all that fabric make you think you need to size down.

  • Materials: cotton with a modal lining

A fabulous trench coat will simply never go out of style, but that doesn’t mean you should stick only to the most classic silhouettes. This sporty Maeve number strikes a gorgeous balance between classic (the beige hue, epaulettes on the shoulders and belted cuffs) and funky (the red-lined collar and front placket, zippered front and adjustable cinched waist). The end result? A trench coat that feels special while still being incredibly easy to wear.

The material has a really great weight to it—enough to keep you warm on those cold late fall evenings, but not so much that you can't break it out in early September, too. There is a hidden drawcord that goes around the waist so you can cinch the silhouette to your heart’s desire, or leave it loose for a roomier fit. I felt very comfortable in my usual size, but will note, if you’re hoping to tighten the waist as much as possible for a more dramatic silhouette, you may want to go up one to ensure there’s enough fabric to still comfortably close in front.
