Netflix Renews ‘You’ for Season 4 Ahead of This Week’s Premiere
Today, Netflix confirmed that You has been renewed for season four. The news shouldn’t come as a huge surprise because the popular series has gained quite the following since it premiered back in 2018. Still, the announcement came at an ideal time, especially since You season three is set to premiere on October 15.
According to showrunner Sera Gamble, the decision to renew You was a no-brainer. “Reading Caroline’s novel, Greg [Berlanti] and I were instantly obsessed with Joe Goldberg and his twisted world view. And it’s been thrilling to watch Penn bring Joe to creepy yet compelling life. We’re deeply grateful that Netflix has shown You such monumental support, and that people around the world have enjoyed watching Joe really get it all very wrong over the past 3 seasons,” she said, according to Deadline. “The whole You team is excited to explore new, dark facets of love in season four.”
Netflix didn’t share any details about the returning cast. However, both Badgley (Gossip Girl) and Victoria Pedretti (The Haunting of Bly Manor) are expected to reprise their roles as Joe and Love, respectively. Season three will also feature a few newcomers—Shalita Grant (NCIS: New Orleans) will play a “Mom-fluencer” named Sherry, Travis Van Winkle (Friday the 13th) will join the cast as a wealthy man named Cary and Scott Speedman (Animal Kingdom) will portray Matthew, a successful CEO and family man who’s hiding a dark past.
