This Priyanka Chopra Movie Is #3 on Netflix and Critics Can’t Stop Raving About It

Still searching for a good movie to add to your Netflix queue?

Well, allow us to introduce you to We Can Be Heroes, the new, family-friendly comedy that stars Priyanka Chopra Jonas and puts a unique twist on the typical superhero tale.

Released on Dec. 25, 2020, the film has already been met with mostly positive reviews and it's currently the third most watched film on Netflix. According to the Rotten Tomatoes critical consensus, the movie "balances its sophisticated themes with heart and zealous originality." IGN critic Rafael Motamayor also described it as a "cheerful, optimistic story for children that inspires them to be better than their parents and save the world, while still offering all the thrills you'd expect from mainstream superhero films that adults also enjoy."

In the movie, all of Earth's superheroes are kidnapped by alien invaders, causing the government to take in and protect the superheroes' children. However, Missy Moreno has no intention of sitting idly by while her dad, Marcus Moreno, is in trouble. Determined to save the superheroes, Missy teams up with the rest of the kids, devising a plan to escape the government's safe house using all of their powers.

Missy Moreno (who you may recognize from The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl) is played Yaya Gosselin, while Marcus Moreno is played by Pedro Pascal. Chopra Jonas plays the kids' government babysitter, Ms. Granada, and other cast members include Adriana Barraza, Boyd Holbrook, Christian Slater and Christopher McDonald.

We Can Be Heroes was written, directed and produced by Robert Rodriguez (known for Spy Kids). It was also produced by Racer Rodriguez.

It looks like we know what to watch for our next family movie night.
