Jon Huertas Teases What’s to Come in ‘This Is Us’ Series Finale: ‘There Are Gonna Be Tears’

It’s the day This Is Us fans have been dreading ever since NBC announced that season six will be the show’s last. The good news? Jon Huertas (who plays Jack’s best friend and Rebecca’s second husband, Miguel) says fans can “expect closure and satisfaction” from the series finale of This Is Us.

The 52-year-old actor recently sat down for an exclusive interview with E! News and teased what’s to come in tonight’s installment. Although Huertas confirmed that “there are gonna be tears,” he also revealed that fans will be pleased with the conclusion.

“I feel like the last episode is a lot about memories,” he told the outlet. “When we think about the best memories and you look at photos and videos from your childhood, you look at these things with a smile on your face.”

Huertas explained that the writers were able tie up loose ends because it was their choice to end the show after six seasons. “We’re ending it on our terms,” he said. “We weren’t canceled. The rug wasn’t taken up underneath us.”

When asked about the possibility about a This Is Us reunion (or spin-off or movie), Huertas hinted that anything is possible. “You never know. They’ve done some crazy things with old shows and reboots,” he continued. “I mean, with The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, it’s a drama now!”

The This Is Us series finale airs tonight, May 24, at 9 p.m. on NBC. *Grabs tissue*
