The streaming executives giveth, and they taketh away.

First, the good news. Six hit shows were just renewed in recent days, including several of my favorites like Widow's Bay, which will be getting a season two on Apple TV, and The Four Seasons, which is getting a season three on Netflix.

But, of course, then we got some bad news. Netflix has decided not to renew one of my favorite shows of the year for a second season (and Geena Davis fans are gonna be pissed).

Here, the shows that were just renewed for new seasons, plus, the one that didn't quite make the cut.

1. Widow's Bay - Renewed

This might just be might favorite show of 2026. The fact that the series is returning for season two is music to my ears.

Horror meets comedy on the island of Widow's Bay. The cast is incredible (Matthew Rhys is phenomenal as the town's mayor), the writing is genius (I laughed out loud as Dale Dickey spent ten minutes tracing the town's lineage during a high-stakes crisis) and it goes from "light horror" to "genuinely scary" pretty quickly (just wait until you get to the Boogeyman episode...).

2. Rivals - Renewed

This '80s-set Hulu show about rival TV executives is sexy, smart and super fun to watch. And now, it's coming back with 12 new episodes for season three.

I recently binged season two of Rivals on a plane, and I loved every minute of it. The writing is clever, but much of the fun comes from just how '80s-tastic it is. The hair, the outfits, the constant smoking—I love it all. This show took me by surprise in the best way possible (and David Tennant makes for a great villain).

3. The Four Seasons - Renewed

This funny dramedy about lifelong friends who go on trips together packs a serious emotional punch (the surprise death in season one majorly took me by surprise). But the cast makes both seasons into must-watch TV. I'm talking Tina Fey, Colman Domingo, Steve Carell, Will Forte, Kerri Kenney-Silver...

The showrunners excitedly announced The Four Seasons season three with a post reading, “Thank you to everyone who watched.  Middle-aged people, LFG!”

4. The Reluctant Traveler With Eugene Levy - Renewed

You may know him from Schitt's Creek and Waiting for Guffman, but Eugene Levy is about to get a whopping fourth season of his Apple TV travel show, The Reluctant Traveler.

The comedian "reluctantly" travels the world in this docuseries, delivering some seriously memorable moments like his interview with Prince William in season three. William got honest with Levy at a pub over a pint saying, “You know, life is sent to test us as well and being able to overcome that is what makes us who we are.”

5. Funny AF With Kevin Hart - Renewed

This star-studded comedy competition series delivered big laughs in season one, and will now have the chance to do so again with a sophomore season. Comedic heavyweights help comedy newcomers advance through the show, which culminates in a live final round complete with global voting (a la American Idol).

According to Hart, “This show is all about giving hungry, undiscovered comedians the kind of shot I was chasing when I started out—an uncensored stage, a real audience, and the chance to turn a dream into a career.”

6. House of Guinness - Renewed

Full disclosure, I'd never heard of this show until it was renewed for season two, making the news a bit of a surprise. But the series is clearly a fan-favorite as the period piece follows the famed beer-making family, which apparently includes backstabbers and social climbers (I'm getting serious Succession vibes here).

Season one has a whopping 90 percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes so the critics were fans of the historical drama series.

7. The Boroughs - Canceled

Ugh, I'm so sad this won't be coming back for season two. Geena Davis, Alfre Woodard, Denis O’Hare and Alfred Molina join forces at their retirement community to fight monsters and a massive conspiracy. What's not to love?

The cancelation is pretty shocking as renewal talks had already been in the works. But with ratings not nearly as stellar as those from the Duffer Brothers' previous show Stranger Things, Netflix ultimately decided to pull the plug.
