Jennifer Lopez Stars Alongside Jennifer Coolidge in New ‘Shotgun Wedding’ Trailer (& It Looks Really Good)

Step aside, Marry Me. Jennifer Lopez is teaming up with a new star-studded cast for another nuptials rom-com: Shotgun Wedding.

Today, Prime Video released the first official trailer for the upcoming film, which follows a bride and groom whose destination wedding doesn’t go as planned. While it sounds like a cliché story line, the funny teaser looks promising.

In the trailer, Darcy (Lopez) and Tom (Josh Duhamel) travel to a tropical location with their closest friends and family. Although everything is planned to a T, it doesn’t take long for things to go awry. Cue the swarm of armed pirates who invade the ceremony.

Together, Darcy and Tom must free their guests, who’ve been taken hostage. Oh, and they have to carry out their plan…while in handcuffs. (Don’t ask.)

The best part? Jennifer Coolidge (The White Lotus) plays J.Lo’s soon-to-be mother-in-law. “I just want to ask,” Coolidge says, referring to Lopez’s petite frame. “Is that genetics, or is it like Pilates?”

At one point, Coolidge gives J.Lo a fancy knife, adding, “We got you a gift. It’s your ‘something borrowed.’ Brings you good luck, except for Uncle Greg who ended up decapitated on that forklift, but that’s not the knife’s fault.”
