A new series has officially captured the attention of Netflix viewers and it’s already making waves. Just days after its release, the show has landed in Netflix’s Top 10 list. Like many recent hits (with the exception of fan-favorites Nobody Wants This and WWE Raw, which currently hold the number one and two spots, respectively), this one’s a gritty crime thriller. Its name? The Asset.

The Asset is a six-episode Danish series starring Clara Dessau, Maria Cordsen, Nicolas Bro and Afshin Firouzi. It premiered on the streaming platform on October 27 and wasted no time climbing the charts. Just one day after its debut, it claimed the number three spot on Netflix’s Top TV Shows in the U.S. and it’s still holding strong there.

So what’s the series about?

Originally titled The Legend, The Asset centers on Tea, a rookie intelligence operative sent undercover to penetrate a powerful crime syndicate that has managed to stay out of reach for years.

Taking on a completely new identity, Tea works to earn the trust of Ashley, the girlfriend of the organization’s ruthless leader, Miran, in hopes of uncovering vital information. But as Tea gets pulled deeper into Ashley’s world and begins to see the dark, suffocating reality of her situation, she starts to question her mission and where her true loyalty belongs.

Since the show only recently dropped, it hasn’t racked up too many reviews yet but the early ones are glowing. On Rotten Tomatoes, the few that have surfaced are near-perfect.

One critic called it “very binge-worthy,” while another praised it as “an enjoyable watch that focuses a bit more on emotions than the thrill.”

A third fan on X described the series as “a really solid piece of television,” adding that it’s “sharply written and shot” and “really well acted.”

With such positive early buzz, it seems The Asset may be holding its Top 10 spot for quite some time.

The Asset is now streaming on Netflix.
