This New Netflix Series About Social Distancing Hits Pretty Darn Close to Home

We now live in a time where face masks are required accessories and Instagram scrolling is a major part of our daily routine (don't judge us). But if there's one good thing that came out of this chaos, it's the fact that the pandemic inspired some amazing content that tackles the challenges of social distancing.

Which brings us to the next title on our binge-watching list: Netflix's Social Distance.

The 10-episode anthology series, all of which was filmed in isolation, shows how a diverse group of characters are striving to stay connected in spite of social distancing protocols.

Each episode will center on a different character as they share their unique stories through a virtual lens. But of course, relying solely on technology makes it extremely hard to maintain those meaningful connections.

As you may have noticed from the trailer, the anthology is a star-studded affair, including names like Heather Burns, Oscar Nunez, Mike Colter, Danielle Brooks and Guillermo Diaz. In the two-minute trailer, we're presented with scenarios that feel all too familiar, from trying (unsuccessfully) to explain Zoom to your parents to awkwardly speaking on mute without even realizing it (been there).

But while there are many light-hearted, laugh-out-loud moments, there are just as many poignant ones. For instance, one episode highlights the anti-racism protests and in another, we see a newly single man try to stay connected, confessing to his online support group that he only has his plant to keep him company.

Social Distance is now available to watch exclusively on Netflix.
