Actress Meghann Fahy is revealing what it’s really like to work with The White Lotus creator Mike White.
The 32-year-old actress recently sat down for an exclusive interview with PureWow to promote her all-new partnership with Astepro® Allergy (more on this later). Fahy shared details about playing the role of Daphne on The White Lotus and confirmed that White is a delight to work with.
“It was amazing. He’s a genius. I mean, everybody thinks he’s smart, and then you meet him, and he’s actually smarter even than that, which is kind of insane,” Fahy told PureWow. “But he was super collaborative and very easy going and created an environment that was really, really comfortable.”
Fahy revealed that the on-set vibe was extremely supportive, adding, “That to me is like the best-case scenario because when you feel comfortable, you feel like you have the space to play and be authentic and try things without being afraid of how it’s going to go.”
When asked about the iconic season 2 finale, Fahy admitted that she was shocked when she first read the script. “Well, at first I couldn't believe it. I just thought it was the last thing that I thought was going to happen. But then I kind of thought it was really clever,” she said. “I sort of loved that Mike doesn’t really like to play to audience expectation. He likes to do his own thing, and you don’t see that a lot in TV.”
She continued, “I ultimately was like, ‘Wow, that’s kind of badass that he’s going to kill everybody’s favorite character.’ And then he did it in this way that was so tragic and funny at the same time.”
Fahy also discussed her partnership with Astepro® Allergy, saying, “I have just always suffered from allergies seasonally and also with cats and stuff like that. And so, it felt like a very natural collaboration. I just think the fact that it works in 30 minutes, and it’s steroid-free is really a game changer.”
