You may have heard all of the recent hoopla about The Menu, the horror/comedy/thriller starring Ralph Fiennes and Anya Taylor-Joy that had PureWow VP of News and Entertainment Philip Mutz screaming "WTF?!" at his television. While that movie had previously been at the top of Netflix’s daily rankings, there is a new number one champ that has just taken the throne—Amy Schumer’s recently released comedy Kinda Pregnant, which may have you screaming "WTF?!" in a totally different way. An unhinged film true to Schumer’s style, jam-packed with tons of hilarious moments along the way, Kinda Pregnant centers around a woman named Lainy (Schumer), who decides to fake a pregnancy after having a relationship fall apart.
Raunchy New #1 Movie on Netflix Bumps Bizarre Thriller to #2
I dare you not to laugh

If you’re going to be committed to faking a pregnancy, then you have to go all out…right? Needless to say, Lainy is completely dedicated, buying and continuously wearing a fake bump to sell her story. If you’re anything like me, however, then you start wondering what additional stories are going to have to be created to keep the facade going because, well, pregnancy only lasts nine months, and eventually, you're kinda gonna need to have an actual baby to show for it. How those questions are answered comes in the form of more outrageous humor. Oh, and what’s more, Lainy just so happens to meet the love of her life along the way who also believes she is *gasp* pregnant.
Aside from Schumer (who also co-produced the film alongside Adam Sandler and others), Kinda Pregnant also stars Brianne Howley (whose performance I love in the hit series Ginny & Georgia) and Jillian Bell (22 Jump Street). And in case you needed an additional example of how chaotic this film gets, there is a sex scene that Schumer herself called “outrageous” during a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly. “I just thought that it would be so funny to have the impediment of trying to pretend like you're pregnant and still have sex with someone and have them not know [that you're not actually pregnant]. So I wrote it out pretty quick,” she told the publication, with director Tyler Spindel adding, “It was such a funny idea. And for the longest time in the script, it was just 'slugged as 'insane sex scene.'”
