The 5 Best Shows of March, Hands-Down

It was a great month for TV

2026 has already been a stellar year for new TV shows. January gave us Steal, PONIES and The Pitt. February gave us the amazing Top Model docuseries. And now, March is here with even more must-watch shows.

I've sorted through the huge list of streaming content to separate the hits from the misses. While I wasn't a huge fan of Rooster (it's fine) or DTF St. Louis (it's also fine), I was a huge fan of these five selects.

From Bait on Prime Video to The Comeback season three on HBO, here are the five best shows of March, hands-down.

1. Young Sherlock

Much to my surprise, Young Sherlock is the best new show on TV right now. Skeptics shouldn't be turned off by the subject matter—I get it, we've seen the Sherlock story before. But this is a wildly fresh take, focusing on the famous detective's origin story (as a thief and an all-around troublemaker).

This Prime Video series is such a fun watch. I was a huge fan of Guy Ritchie's 2024 show The Gentlemen, and this new show from Ritchie gives similar vibes, mixing suspense, humor and action with fun twists. 10/10 would recommend.

2. Bait

Another surprise hit this month? The very funny (and very well acted) Bait, starring Riz Ahmed. The former The Night Of star plays a flailing actor up for the role of the new James Bond. After blowing the audition, he finds that he might not be out of the running just yet. He'll do whatever it takes (intentionally or accidentally) to make his dream come true.

The Oscar nominee created, produced and wrote the show as well—which makes his award-worthy performance all the more impressive. Bait is an enjoyable and easy watch (the episodes are a breezy 30-ish minutes). The clever series gives an inside look at the entertainment world, without feeling "insider-y." Will this hot mess of an actor actually become the next James Bond? I'll be binging the rest to find out.

3. The Comeback

You guys. The Comeback has long been my favorite show of all time. So naturally, I immediately texted everyone I knew when the news broke last June that The Comeback would be getting a third and final season. It's been 10 years since the last season, which came 10 years after the first season. HBO has certainly made fans such as myself wait for it...but damn, it's been worth the wait.

The iconic Valerie Cherish (Lisa Kudrow) is back, and she's been cast in a show written by A.I. Obviously, her camera crew is in tow to capture the whole hilarious experience on film. The series is not only laugh-out-loud funny, but it's also given us some of the best TV lines ever: "I don't wanna see that!"

4. Scarpetta

Seriously, y'all, how is Nicole Kidman in another show?! LionessNine Perfect StrangersThe Perfect CoupleBig Little Lies...and now Scarpetta? (I didn't even mention all the movies...) Very impressive, Nicole.

Even more impressive? She's totally miscast in this show—and I don't care. I love watching her in it anyway. Kidman plays a medical examiner investigating a serial killer in this must-watch thriller.

The series is full of famous faces: Kidman, Simon Baker, Jamie Lee Curtis, Bobby Cannavale, Ariana DeBose and Cannavale's real-life son, Jake Cannavale. Come for the murder mystery, stay for the screaming matches between Kidman and Curtis, who play rival sisters.

5. Jury Duty Presents: Company Retreat

This show might seem familiar and unfamiliar at the same time. Yes, this is technically the second season of Jury Duty (the runaway hit about real-guy Ronald who gets thrust into a fake trial). But this time around, we've got a new unsuspecting real person (Anthony), a new cast of crazy characters surrounding our hero and an entirely new scenario: a company retreat.

Season two is just as funny (and off the walls) as season one. Anthony is so earnest as the hot sauce company's newest intern. Watching him laugh—or try not to laugh—at the antics of his co-workers is so enjoyable. From the bumbling boss's son to the anxious activities manager, the ensemble is solid—and I can't believe they're all able to keep a straight face.

And Don't Forget the Best Shows of February...

...or January
