‘A Simple Favor’ Sequel Is Happening! Prime Video Releases Title, Release Date & First-Look Photos

It’s been over six years since A Simple Favor (starring Blake Lively and Anna Kendrick) first hit theaters. And while rumors about a sequel have been circulating for quite some time, fans were skeptical about whether it would actually happen. Luckily, this brand-new announcement confirms what everyone saw coming.

Prime Video not only announced that the A Simple Favor sequel is coming soon, but the studio also released the title and first-look photo. The upcoming movie, titled Another Simple Favor, will debut at South by Southwest (SXSW) before hitting Prime Video on May 1.

The first photo shows Lively and Kendrick standing next to a pool surrounded by candles as they clink the rims of their martinis. Kendrick is sporting a casual white robe and top knot, while Lively is rocking red loungewear.

As expected, both Lively and Kendrick will reprise their roles as Emily Nelson and Stephanie Smothers, respectively. Another Simple Favor will follow the duo as they reunite in Capri for Emily’s wedding. It doesn’t take long for their past to come back to haunt them.

The tagline reads, "Every friendship has its twists.”

I’m very curious to see how it all plays out. I’m shocked that Stephanie is still speaking to Emily when she’s supposed to be in jail for murder. Maybe Stephanie is more forgiving than I realized. Or perhaps she has an ulterior motive. Regardless, I’m marking my calendar for the Another Simple Favor premiere on May 1.
