“The cradle will rock,” sings a chilling, Lana Del Rey-esque voice in the background of the new American Horror Story teaser. Season twelve, which is being named American Horror Story: Delicate, is based on an upcoming thriller from Danielle Valentine, titled Delicate Condition. Now that we have our first look, it seems like there are loads of winks to past seasons of the horror phenomenon—latex, cultish chants, demonic babies(?). However, there's one major new element—a star we've never seen before on the series: Kim Kardashian. And she looks totally unrecognizable in this first sneak peek. Check it out below.

In this first trailer, Kardashian wears a gleaming white wig and round glasses (channeling Fame-era Lady Gaga), and she rocks a bright red lip and dramatic lash extensions. If her name hadn't flashed across the screen, we're not entirely sure we would've been able to tell it was her.
It was first announced back in April that Kim K would be joining the shock-inducing horror anthology. In a statement to The Hollywood Reporter, show creator Ryan Murphy said, “Kim is among the biggest and brightest television stars in the world and we are thrilled to welcome her to the AHS family.”
Along with the Keeping Up with the Kardashians alum, season twelve of AHS will feature another new face: Cara Delevingne. The 30-year-old model and actress, who recently starred in season two of Only Murders in the Building, will be joining the AHS family for the first time as well.
Besides these two new stars, the trailer sees the return of Emma Roberts, who has featured in multiple installments of the series, including Coven, Freak Show, Cult, Apocalypse and 1984.
This will be the first time in AHS history that a season has been adapted from a source material. According to Sourcebooks, the book Delicate Condition is about “a woman convinced a sinister figure is going to great lengths to make sure her pregnancy never happens—while the men in her life refuse to believe a word she says.” Season twelve was written solely by Halley Feiffer.
Is There a Premiere Date for American Horror Story: Delicate?
According to this first teaser, the twelfth season of AHS will be "coming soon," but based on previous seasons, we're guessing that it will arrive sometime early fall.
