This Hidden Gem on Netflix Is the Must-Watch Murder Mystery of the Month

If you’ve already binge-watched all ten of Netflix’s top movies, you may have stumbled upon the streaming service’s “Hidden Gem” category. That’s exactly where we found the 2018 movie Agatha and the Truth of Murder, which is a cross between Death on the Nile and Enola Holmes.

The movie takes place in 1926 and follows famed crime writer Agatha Christie as she struggles to find inspiration for her writing. Everything changes when she meets a woman named Mabel Rogers, who’s seeking answers about the mysterious death of her partner, Florence Nightingale Shore (AKA Florence Nightingale’s goddaughter).

Though hesitant, Christie agrees to investigate the case and launches an undercover operation. Meanwhile, the nation is trying (and failing) to determine her whereabouts.

The trailer (see above) offers a glimpse of the cast, which includes Ruth Bradley (Agatha Christie), Pippa Haywood (Mabel Rogers), Stacha Hicks (Florence Nightingale Shore), Ralph Ineson (Detective Inspector Dicks), Dean Andrews (Wade Miller), Bebe Cave (Daphne Miller), Amelia Rose Dell (Rosalind), Richard Doubleday (Postmaster Wilson), Derek Halligan (Mr. Todd), Blake Harrison (Travis Pickford) and Brian McCardie (Sir Hugh Persimmion).

Agatha and the Truth of Murder was directed by Terry Loane (Mickeybo and Me). Tom Dalton (Agatha and the Midnight Murders) wrote the script, while Emily Dalton (Agatha and the Curse of Ishtar), Sebastian Cardwell (All Creatures Great and Small) and Chamoun Issa (Torvill & Dean) served as executive producers.
