Beauty mavens can’t get enough of Tatcha’s Silk Canvas Protective Primer…but it costs $54. So, is there anything else on the market that costs less and can do what it does? Let’s find out.

PureWow just released a brand-new episode of What the Dupe, “a show where we find, test and tell you about our favorite beauty dupes.” In the latest installment, Matthew compared the beloved Tatcha Silk Canvas Protective Primer ($54) with a much cheaper option: e.l.f. Cosmetics Poreless Putty Primer ($10).

In the episode (see above), Matthew explained that customers shouldn’t be fooled by appearances. “Now at first glance, you’re going to say, ‘Hmm, Matthew. The Tatcha primer is bigger,’” he said. “It looks bigger—it is not. There is more product in the e.l.f Putty Primer than the Tatcha primer.”

He went on to explain why Tatcha’s primer has become so popular, adding, “People love the Tatcha primer because of its blurring effects that it has because it blurs pores and brings everything together and evens out your skin before applying your makeup.”

So, does the e.l.f. Cosmetics Poreless Putty Primer live up to expectations? Watch the episode to find out and keep scrolling for details on both products.
