The 11 Best Things to Buy from Sephora’s Clean Beauty Section
Sephora launched its Clean at Sephora section just three years ago, but to be honest we can barely remember a time before the beauty giant’s foray into clean beauty. Those green stamps of approval are now one of our go-to ways to determine whether something is worth the splurge. They denote which makeup, skincare and haircare products are free of sulfates (SLS and SLES), parabens, formaldehydes, phthalates, mercury compounds, animal fats and other harmful ingredients. In fact, there are more than 50 ingredients on Sephora’s “formulated without list,” which was upped in 2019 from the 13 it launched with. Here, you’ll find 11 of our current favorite clean-beauty products.
Scoring your favorite PureWow finds just got even easier, thanks to our new Instant Shop feature. Just click on the item you want to buy, and we’ll (securely!) handle the whole checkout process without ever leaving the site. Because we all have too many tabs open as it is.
1. Supergoop! PLAY Everyday Lotion SPF 50 PA++++
Sunscreen is obviously a must, and this one is good. Water-resistant and oil-free, this face and body sunscreen provides SPF 50 and broad-spectrum UV protection as well as anti-aging benefits and moisture.
2. Kosas The Big Clean Volumizing + Lash Care Mascara
Missing your lash extension appointments but not willing to put up with the arduous process of applying falsies on the regular? All you need is a swipe of this clean mascara and you’ll have all the same volume and curl as your favorite falsies. Oh, and it also includes haircare ingredients to nourish and protect your natural lashes.
3. ILIA Tinted Lip Conditioner
In seven gorgeous shades, this cult-favorite lip tint nourishes like a hydrating balm while adding a sheer, buildable color.
5. RMS BEAUTY Champagne Rosé Luminizer
This luminizer is a blush-pink, champagne highlighter that gives skin a subtly dewy opalescence. Dab it onto your cheekbones, brow bones or cupid's bow for a natural but lovely glow.
6. Tatcha The Dewy Skin Cream Plumping & Hydrating Moisturizer
This lightweight moisturizer is one of Tatcha’s best sellers and uses a blend of Japanese ingredients to deeply hydrate your face and neck. Although the moisturizing effects are incredibly impressive, it easily melds into your skin without feeling heavy or sticky.
7. Drunk Elephant Protini™ Powerpeptide Resurfacing Serum
This Lactic acid serum may not be a good option for those with sensitive skin, but it certainly packs a punch (in a great way) for those who are used to more aggressive exfoliants. The vegan formula also uses signal peptides to help restore and refresh your skin for a healthy bounce.
8. Westman Atelier Super Loaded Tinted Cream Highlighter
All three shades of highlighter work well on just about every skin tone to give you and instant glow. You can also use it as an eyeshadow for a dewy look perfect for summer nights.
9. OLEHENRIKSEN Banana Bright Eye Crème
Banish dark circles and fine lines with this powerful eye creme made with vitamin C-packed banana powder and collagen.
10. Isle of Paradise Self-Tanning Water
We love a good faux glow, but a self-tanner that’s also clean is even better. The spray formula makes it easier to avoid streaks or weird dark patches (thank goodness).
11. Biossance Squalane + BHA Pore-Minimizing Toner
Use this exfoliating toner once a day to clear your skin of impurities without stripping it of the oils it needs to stay happy and healthy. The superstar ingredient here is white willow bark extract, which is a natural BHA that works to gently slough away dead skin cells.
