Mikey Madison won Best Actress for Anora at the 97th Academy Awards, but I was too busy admiring her glamorous updo. The 25-year-old stunned on the red carpet, rocking a high bun inspired by her Christian Dior gown. While I personally won't be leaving with gold, I can surely try my hand in recreating Madison's hair instead. Here's everything you need to feel like the Oscar winner.

As mentioned, her hair was inspired by her gown, more specifically the bow at the center. Celebrity hairstylist Rena Calhoun writes, "The look today was meant to feel elegant and timeless yet simple. I wanted to incorporate the bow into the structural details of the hair. The bun is sculpted in a way to emulate softness of a ribbon."

Bumble & Bumble

The hairstylist relied on a few products to create the actress's updo. First, she applied Bumble and Bumble Hairdresser’s Invisible Oil ($47) from mid-length to ends to hydrate, soften and protect strands.

Tangle Teezer

The stylist then used the Tangle Teezer Ultimate Detangler brush ($16) to comb through the product and detangle Madison's damp locks. This step was crucial before applying any heat tools and shaping into the updo.

Shark

Once her hair was prepped, Calhoun used the Shark FlexFusion ($400) to rough dry her hair before adding the wet/dry brush attachment for a silky, smooth blowout. The stylist says she worked in 2x2 inch sections. She writes, "It makes blow-drying the hair extremely easy because it eliminates having to use two tools (a round brush and a blow dryer) and simplifies it by combining the two."

Bumble and Bumble

Calhoun applied another layer of the Bumble and Bumble hair protectant and a bit of Bumble and Bumble Dryspun Texture Spray ($37). "When working hair into updos, it's important for me to create a bit of grit and texture in the hair in order to give me maximum control," she explains.

According to Calhoun, the trick is twisting the hair up and using a generous amount of hairspray to set as you go. It's also helpful to work in sections to create the ribbon shape. She adds, “Once I was happy with the structure, I locked it in with a final mist of the hairspray while simultaneously applying diffused heat with my Shark FlexFusion's diffuser [attachment] to ensure that everything will hold all night long.”

Anora won big, but Madison's updo was also a winner last night.
