It’s the most wonderful time of the year! That is, Merit Beauty sale time, of course.

There’s a reason why celebs like Sarah Jessica Parker, Cameron Diaz and Aimee Lou Wood are obsessed with Merit Beauty. Deeming itself the “antidote” to a crowded beauty scene, the minimalist makeup brand focuses on providing just the essentials—all vegan, cruelty-free and meeting EU and Clean at Sephora standards—that don’t just make you look good; many include skin-boosting ingredients like squalene and vitamin B5. (Our editors can’t stop raving about everything from the Complexion Stick to its Retrospect fragrance.)

Best of all? Merit Beauty is having its Black Friday sale right now up until Cyber Monday, Dec. 1. (PSA: This is the company’s only major sale of the year.) The deal details? Save a whopping 20 percent off sitewide, plus enjoy a free gift with purchase—not bad.

To help you edit the products you’re adding to cart, we’ve picked 10 Merit Beauty favorites that you’ll be so glad you tried.

For Rosy Cheeks

1. Merit Flush Balm Cheek Color

Merit Beauty

Available in 13 different shades, Merit Beauty’s Flush Balm is palm-sized with a creamy formula that blends easily into your skin. PureWow’s Beauty and Cultures Editor, Chelsea Candelario, recently tested every single shade and gave this product a rave review: “It gives you flexibility to rock a subtle or dramatic look, while being comfortable on the skin and easy to blend with just my finger,” she reports. To apply, simply swipe on the apples of your cheeks and blend. Bonus: The compact size means you can easily toss it in your purse for on-the-go touch-ups, too.

For an Elegant Scent

2. Merit Retrospect L’Extrait de Parfum

Merit Beaity

Boasting notes of bergamot, pear, jasmine, violet, rose and vanilla, this parfum—Merit Beauty’s first entry into the fragrance space—is elevated and distinct. It’s also designed to remain on your skin for as long as 8 to 12 hours. PureWow’s editorial assistant Courtney Mason is a huge fan: “Retrospect certainly has a timeless and classic charm to it, but still feels like it could be worn by the modern woman,” she says. Also worth noting: How beautifully the scent’s various notes evolve throughout the day.

PureWow’s former associate fashion commerce editor, Stephanie Meraz, is quick to claim: This product is hands-down her favorite Merit Beauty item, based on sheer use cases alone. Not only does it act as both a buildable concealer and foundation, it leaves a natural finish that reduces the appearance of dark spots and acne without looking cakey or overdone. “It’s become my go-to product for everyday wear,” she says. “Whether I’m running out the door in a hurry or putting on a full face of glam, I’ve loved reaching for this handy-dandy stick.”

For Effortless Blending

4. Merit Beauty Brush No. 1

Merit Beauty

Meraz raves about this makeup routine staple from Merit, calling it the blending brush that does it all. “From concealer and bronzer to blush and highlighter, there’s nothing this brush can’t handle like a champ,” she says. It’s made with extra soft vegan bristles that are super gentle, especially on sensitive skin, but they’re also densely packed, which is a dream for blending. True statement: Brush No. 1 will immediately become the hero of your makeup bag.

For a Radiant Complexion

5. Merit Day Glow Highlighting Balm

Merit Beauty

A good highlighter is hard to find, which is why Meraz—who recently reviewed Merit Beauty’s full collection—is quick to tout all her favorite parts of this cult favorite product. Rich in vitamins, amino acids and plant-based squalane, this balm not only moisturizes and locks in hydration, it adds a subtle (and natural) iridescence to your complexion. Meraz reports: “It’s not as pigmented and sparkly as a powder, but does leave me with a delicate luster, thanks to those micro-fine pearls and gorgeous wet finish.” Better yet, it's super easy to blend out with a finger or a brush.

For a Natural (and Hydrated) Glow

6. Merit Great Skin Instant Glow Serum

Merit Beauty

This weightless formula is designed to leave your skin feeling hydrated, plumped and prepped, which is why it’s also meant to the very first step in your Merit-based beauty routine. “I was surprised by how watery the consistency was and how it easily sloshed around my palms before I dabbed it onto my face,” says Meraz. (FYI, you also need to shake the bottle rigorously before you apply, per the instructions.) But it’s the caffeine-rich cacao seed extract that its infused with that works to stimulate blood flow, as well as niacinamide for brightening and four different types of hyaluronic acid for hydration. The overall combination is a skincare game-changer.

For a Sun-Kissed Complexion

7. Merit Bronze Balm Sheer Bronzer

Merit Beauty

This small-but-mighty bronzer stick will glide on smoothly to give you that beachy vacay glow, minus any cakiness. Apply it in the shape of a 3 to both sides of your face, then use it to sculpt your forehead, cheekbones, chin—really anywhere the sun naturally hits. (Our editorial testers found that the resulting look is sheer, but also oh-so-healthy.)

For a Nude Lip

8. Merit Signature Lip

Merit Beauty

Offered in 15 different shades and both matte and satin finishes, Merit’s lightweight lipstick is formulated to lock in moisture while delivering a pop of color at the same time. Ingredients ranging from sunflower seed oil to papain help to soothe and hydrate lips while vitamin C is present to minimize the look of fine lines. But it’s the color range that truly sings, taking a look from casual to fancy in a few seconds flat.

For Maximum Moisture

9. Merit Great Skin Priming Moisturizer

Merit Beauty

This moisturizer is designed to perfectly compliment Merit’s Great Skin Instant Glow Serum (described above). To Meraz, it felt like a “healthy smoothie full of all the good ingredients your skin wants to drink up.” (Think peptides, oat extract, glycerin, hyaluronic acid and more.) Beyond hydration, this product will help improve skin elasticity, smoothness, firmness and tone. It also serves as the best-ever base for your makeup.

For (Gently) Taking It All Off

10. Merit Great Skin Double Cleanse

Merit Beauty

This foam-based cleanser offers a two-in-one, bi-phase formula that’s meant to be as effective as a makeup remover while gently cleansing your skin (aka think of it as one less product you have to use before bed). It’s also gentle enough to use morning and night and is formulated with a pH balance to support a healthy skin barrier. Natalie LaBarbera, PureWow’s associate commerce editor, put this product to the test when it first launched and explained that its oat-derived surfactants work to remove any traces of makeup, sunscreen or other impurities while plant-derived humectants exfoliate, brighten and smooth. “My skin just feels so clean after I use this—and I don't have to go over it with a toner pad or anything afterward to feel like my pores are totally clear,” she adds.
