This weightless formula is designed to leave your skin feeling hydrated, plumped and prepped, which is why it’s also meant to the very first step in your Merit-based beauty routine. “I was surprised by how watery the consistency was and how it easily sloshed around my palms before I dabbed it onto my face,” says Meraz. But it’s the caffeine-rich cacao seed extract that its infused with that works to stimulate blood flow, as well as niacinamide for brightening and four different types of hyaluronic acid for hydration. This foam-based cleanser offers a two-in-one, bi-phase formula that’s meant to be as effective as a makeup remover while gently cleansing your skin (aka think of it as one less product you have to use before bed). It’s also gentle enough to use morning and night and is formulated with a pH balance to support a healthy skin barrier.
