My new party trick is finding out what celebrities smell like—or at least, discovering their go-to scent. I went on a deep dive (more like scoured Reddit) to see what fragrance brands celebrities are obsessed with these days and found one brand kept getting mentioned in interviews and comments: Byredo. From Victoria Beckham to Kate Bosworth, here's why it deserves your nose attention.

First, What Is Byredo?

Perfumer Ben Gorham launched Byredo in 2006 in Stockholm, Sweden, and while he's since left the company (two years after it was sold to luxury beauty brand Puig), the products are still produced in the Nordic country. Aside from fragrances, the company also sells accessories, makeup and leather goods. It has certainly become a favorite among fragrance aficionados, celebs and customers alike due to its luxe packaging, fresh scents and minimalistic aesthetic. In regards to fragrances, the most popular scents are Mojave Ghost, Gypsy Water and Eleventh Hour. Here's what you need to know about each.

This one is a best seller among customers and celebrities alike—even going viral online. Described as a woody scent inspired by (you guessed it) the Mojave desert, it has top notes of ambrette and Jasmine nesberry, middle notes of violet, sandalwood and magnolia and settles in chantilly musk, crisp amber and cedarwood.

In a 2014 interview, Kate Bosworth shared she was very loyal to this scent. "I’m dying to meet [Byredo founder Ben Gorham] because I’m really such a massive fan. His scents are beautiful and complex and sexy and innocent. There are such incredible layers to what he does. I’m a loyalist with my scents,” she told Into The Gloss.

Model Rose Huntington-Whiteley called it her "all-time ultimate fragrance," while star Christina Ricci shared to The Strategist that she's been wearing it for about eight years. Safe to say it's a crowd favorite.

So, what makes it so special? The brand describes it as the scent of "soil, deep forests and campfires evokes the dream of a lifestyle close nature." It has key notes of bergamot, lemon, amber, vanilla and sandalwood, to name a few.

The Strategist also spoke to actress and singer Adrienne Bailton-Houghton. She is obsessed with "Eleventh Hour" and said it was her secret weapon when she started dating her now-husband. "I was going to buy it just to have on our countertop, which sounds crazy, but when I smelled it, I fell in love with the scent. It smelled like winter. It smelled like family. It smelled like apple pie. My husband started wearing it too, so now it’s our main autumn-winter fragrance. But I’m still wearing it in spring, so it might be our year-round signature scent," she told them.

It has a spicy, woody fragrance, featuring bergamot, rum and tonka beans. It's meant to evoke exploration and expedition, while providing a bit of sweetness with the added wild fig.
