The 12 Best Workout Apps and Streaming Services to Use at Home
With the implementation of social distancing guidelines, our workout routine already looks a whole lot different than it did a week ago (bye, gym and beloved Pilates studio). And we’re guessing you’re in the same boat. Thankfully there are a ton of great workout apps and streaming services that make it possible for us to continue our fitness grind from our humble abodes. And even better? A ton of them have amazon free trial offers and deals for new users to take advantage of right now. Here, the 12 best workout apps and streaming services to use at home.
Free/Free Trial Options:1. Aaptiv
If you like to mix up your workouts, Aaptiv is a total dream. The audio-based app (which has a seven-day free trial, BTW) offers over 2,000 trainer-led workouts for yoga, running, strength training and more.
Always wanted to try Olivia Culpo’s favorite workout? Now’s your chance. The brand is offering a 30-day free trial of its low-impact toning method, no credit card required. Just sign up for the 14-day trial of the streaming service, then enter code ‘OnePvolve’ at checkout.
You’re probably familiar with ClassPass’s credit system, which allows you to book classes at your favorite fitness studios. But it turns out you can also stream tons of on-demand barre, yoga and HIIT videos from the comfort of your living room, too. You can opt into a two week free trial for the full library, or download the app to browse its completely free options.
4. Tone It Up
Founders Karena and Katrina developed such a following from their fitness YouTube channel that they created their own app. It contains on demand workouts targeting specific areas, four-week long programs to help you reach a specific goal and a library of quick toning moves that you can do anywhere. And right now, they’re offering the app free for 30 days with no credit card required.
5. Nike Training Club
Once you download this app, you can browse tons of beginner, intermediate and advanced workouts catered to your specific equipment needs (don’t own dumbells? no worries) and desired intensity. Oh, and did we mention it's free all the time. That's right, no free trial here.
This app’s tagline is “stop paying to work out!” which is something we can totally get behind. In its library, you’ll find a variety of classes—including cardio, Pilates and dance—from celebrity trainers and even a few celebs themselves (psst, Gabrielle Union makes an appearance).
Peloton is famous for its at-home spin bikes, but good news: you don’t need one to reap the benefits of its app. According to the brand, it acts as ‘your pass to thousands of live and on-demand classes’ in running, yoga, strength, and, of course, cycling. And right now, Peloton is generously offering an extended three month free trial.
8. Obé Fitness
Like to get your workouts done efficiently? Say no more. Obé Fitness’s signature 28 minute classes are quick and effective. Once you sign up, you can opt to take one of their live classes in strength, cardio or stretching, or choose one from their on-demand selection. Use code ‘PUREWOW’ for a free one-week trial, and after that, your first month is $1.
Dance-inspired cardio and sculpt classes and the opportunity to support a female-owned small business? Sign us up. After the seven-day free trial, DanceBody is offering 50% off your first month of membership with code ‘DBATHOME’ so you can stream their live classes and access on-demand content whenever you’d like.
10. Body by Simone
Created by celebrity trainer Simone De La Rue (whose clients include Reese Witherspoon, Chrissy Teigen and Taylor Swift, BTW) each workout (there are both live and on-demand options) is designed to get you looking and feeling great. Once your 14-day free trial is up, you’ll get 20 percent off a monthly membership, 30 percent off a biannual membership, and 40 percent off a yearly membership if you sign up right now.
11. Everybody Fights
There are tons of fitness livestreams going on right now, but this is probably the most organized version we’ve seen. The boxing gym chain Everybody Fights put out a schedule detailing when each of their trainers will be going live on Instagram with a new workout this week. Psst, there are multiple classes a day.
12. Modo Yoga
Modo Yoga is also offering a number of daily live classes on its Instagram page. Each daily schedule is posted to their feed. It’s completely free to tune in, but they do ask that you consider donating if you’re able to help support the instructors.
