There are quite a few things that stand out about this sundrenched and centrally located apartment in a historic building. First is the charming placement of the vining indoor plant (as shown above)—because, how did they do that?! OK, now that I have revealed my poor track record with houseplants, I will get to the other good stuff. This perfect five-star apartment boasts numerous luxury amenities, including a home theater system and a fully equipped kitchen. The pristine and exceptionally well-appointed interior gets rave reviews from previous guests, and the location—in the heart of the city center and just two minutes away from the subway station on foot—is pretty hard to beat.

As the name of the listing suggests, this rental is located in the vibrant Port Venezia district of Milan, where boutiques, restaurants and major transport hubs converge. There’s a beautiful and very well-equipped kitchen, two generously sized bedrooms with walk-in closets, and an elegantly decorated living area. Some highlights from the glowing reviews include extremely comfortable beds and numerous amenities that will leave you wanting for nothing. That said, I would be remiss not to mention that the prime location of this pad does have a drawback—namely a little extra noise that might be annoying for extra light sleepers.

Oh, and did I mention there’s a private terrace where you can enjoy a glass of wine or dinner al fresco? (For an additional fee, you can even have a professional chef prepare that for you.) If you’re looking for class, elegance and easy access to all of Milan’s top attractions, this place fits the bill.

I love the interior design of this funky (but not obnoxious) rental, and apparently, I’m not the only one because it also gets the seal of approval from a French design trendsetter who described it as néographique, or new and innovative. “This apartment is spectacular! More beautiful than the photos. [Fully] stocked and equipped with incredible views of the city. Located above a grocery store and within walking distance of Navigli Grande canal. We had trouble leaving the apartment, it was so comfortable and cozy. Would definitely recommend for a couple. Ended up extending our stay.” Indeed, by all accounts, this is an absolutely dreamy place to book for a romantic, fashionable stay in Milan.

Per the reviews, the terrace is definitely a huge highlight of the property and affords guests a private oasis in the heart of the city. This charming and cheerful apartment is located in an old Milan-style building in the heart of NoLo—Milan’s trendiest and most vibrant, multicultural neighborhood. The quirky interior design, featuring pops of color and a combination of salvaged wood and iron, gives this apartment so much character. It’s also very well-appointed and so comfortable. There’s an open floor plan dining room with a fully equipped kitchen. The one-bedroom abode features a private balcony and a lofted bed to maximize space, allowing for a comfortable three-seater sofa. It’s a budget-friendly stay in an excellent location and rave reviews like this one suggest it doesn’t disappoint: “This is the best Airbnb that we’ve ever stayed in. Everything about it was perfect. It’s super cozy, amazing kitchen, really amazing cozy bed, very quiet for being in the city, great location near the metro and amazing restaurants and cafes, and fun decor (I wish my house looked this cool). We will definitely stay here again the next time we’re in Milan.”

The living area features, which opens up to a private balcony, features an extensive collection of art, Milanese history books and other reading materials. The Balinese king-size canopy is, according to reviews, extremely comfortable and outfitted with luxurious bedding. Op art meets mid-century modern at this luxe two-bedroom condo, which boasts cheerful splashes of color and unique decorative touches throughout the sleek and spotless space. The interior design is worthy of a magazine spread, but I didn’t choose it just because it’s easy on the eyes: The generously sized interior has extremely comfortable beds and furnishings, plus every amenity you need for a pleasant stay, including air conditioning, laundry and more. The location is also ideal for getting around Milan, as it is situated halfway between two Metro stations and just a ten-minute walk from Milan’s central train station.

One word to describe this jewel in the heart of Milan: terrace! Really, though, the expansive terrace is large enough to be a whole separate rental—it’s peaceful, quiet, beautifully furnished and boasts stellar views of the Duomo. Let’s just say it’s definitely the place where you and your group will want to spend lots of the time. The spacious three-bedroom interior isn’t too shabby, either. Elegantly decorated, comfortably furnished and very well-equipped with everything you need to settle in. The beds get high marks, as does the living room, which is huge and flooded with natural light. It’s also worth noting that the location couldn’t be more ideal. It’s within walking distance of pretty much everything Milan has to offer. Or, as one reviewer put it, “The location won — everything’s walkable with great restaurants and shops around. The burger spot downstairs was unbelievable!” (Noted.)

The rich blue and gold tones of this stunningly decorated three-bedroom apartment create a whole vibe that will make you feel like you’re royalty on the French Riviera. (Hence the name, I suppose.) Other highlights include a spacious kitchen that has an attached balcony with city views, plus super comfortable beds, ample space for groups and numerous amenities. The location is excellent, too, with a multitude of bars, restaurants and trendy boutiques in the immediate vicinity and the Duomo just a 25-minute walk away.

  • Rate: from $206/night
  • Sleeps: 3
  • Amenities: WiFi, HDTV, sound system, air conditioning, laundry

Located a mere 500 meters from the Duomo, this unique pad has an incredibly convenient location that’s walkable to nearly everything you would want to do in Milan. The interior design has, as the name suggests, an oriental vibe with vibrant green walls and numerous skylights that flood the space with sunlight. You can also expect a blessedly quiet stay, despite being in the heart of the city, because the apartment is located on the top floor of the building.

It’s also worth noting that this stay has a perfect five-star rating, and almost every glowing review mentions the hospitality of the host, who has paid great attention to detail in the design of the space and goes out of her way to provide recommendations for places to eat, shop, drink, etc. One reviewer wrote, “Joeng, such a great host and commentator. She thinks like she’s the guest.” And another reviewer commented that, “the place is so nice and comfortable like it’s made for someone to live in, and not just a commercial Airbnb.”
