Apple watch sale Amazon: Apple Watch Series 8 on a wrist
Amazon

Sure, Amazon Prime Big Deals Day 2023 gives us opportunities to stock up on beauty products, items for your pets and other must-haves. (Sign up here to see the deals as a Prime member.) But the massive savings event, which runs through Oct. 11, also gives us a chance to indulge in high-tech enhancements (ahem, splurges) we might otherwise overlook—like a not-to-be-missed Apple Watch sale, for example.

Amazon has lowered the price on the best-selling Series 8 (it was $399, now it’s on sale for $319), as well as the second-generation SE (formerly $249, it's reduced by 20 percent to $199).

These popular accessories, which now have an always-on retina display to make them easier to use outdoors, feature sensors that can track your heart rate, measure blood oxygen and in the case of the Series 8, sense your body temperature.

Amazon discounts vary based on color and style (i.e., GPS versus GPS + cellular options)—but not to worry: We broke it down for you below. Keep reading for details on the two best Amazon deals for the Apple Watch.

Best for Biometrics

1. Apple Watch Series 8

What We Like

  • sleep tracking
  • temperature-sensing tech
  • crash detection

What We Don’t Like

  • not very customizable

Apple

The Series 8 edition of the Apple Watch, which launched in September 2022, is like your personal coach/slash bodyguard, enabling you to track multiple health biometrics, including fertility. It’s GPS-enabled, and comes with a standard-sized 41 millimeter band, with your option of S/M and M/L sizes.

While many features of the Series 8 are the same as it’s predecessor, the Series 7, $264, (crack-resistant glass, an always-on display and fast charging speeds), the main difference is that the newer iteration takes your temperature every five seconds at night, with sensitivity of up to 1 degree. That means the Series 8 may be able to detect illness, jet lag, exercise-induced temperature fluctuations and more. The Series 8 also claims to detect falls and crashes and can call help for you. All this, at up to $100 off, in four colors: red, midnight, silver and starlight.

Best Starter Apple Watch

2. Apple Watch SE Smart Watch

What We Like

  • new design color-matches back case
  • crash detection

What We Don’t Like

  • sleep tracking isn’t 100 percent accurate

Apple

Not interested in the temperature-tracking feature of the Series 8? You can enjoy all the other bells and whistles it offers, including sleep monitoring, exercise analysis and fall and crash detection, with the second-generation Apple Watch SE, also introduced in September 2022. This latest SE model has faster processing at a lower cost than its predecessor. GPS-enabled, it also has an easy-to-read 40-millimeter case. It’s currently on sale for $50 off its usual price of $249 in all three colors: midnight, silver and starlight, so you’ll have no excuses for choosing the couch over that 5K—and beyond.
