Confession: We’re obsessed with foil packets. When you can wrap everything in a tidy bundle, it makes cooking and cleanup easier. Take s’mores, for example. We know the mess is part of the fun, but when you’re packing a million items of camping gear, one bag of marshmallows might be the thing to put you over the edge. Instead, assemble the treats ahead of time, toss ’em on the campfire and enjoy.
Bonus: When wrapped up, the marshmallow and chocolate melts evenly, creating the ideal gooey, chocolate-to-marshmallow ratio—you can’t do that with a stick.
4 graham crackers, broken in half crosswise
4 pieces milk chocolate
4 marshmallows
1. Have ready 4 large squares of aluminum foil.
2. Place one half of a graham cracker on each foil square, then top with a piece of chocolate, a marshmallow and another graham cracker piece. Wrap tightly in the foil.
3. To cook the s’mores, place directly on a grill or campfire and toast until the marshmallow and chocolate are melted, turning occasionally, about 5 minutes. Use tongs to remove, cool slightly until safe to handle and serve.
