A 10-year-old girl’s dreams came true recently when she got the opportunity to meet Kelly Ripa.
In a post shared on the LIVE with Kelly and Mark Instagram account, the young girl could be seen crying and hugging Ripa while gifting her a shirt in the process. “You'd better stop that crying before I give you a reason to cry!” said Ripa playfully as she thanked her for the shirt. “Thank you so much! I will treasure this,” she told the youngster before she went back to her seat with her family.
“You have some beautiful girls,” Ripa told her. The heartwarming exchange made the day of many fans, who commented, “OMG this is amazing!!” and “I saw her crying when they came out. How nice that they acknowledged her!”
Ripa is known for her interactions with fans. In April, a guest shouted over Kelly and her co-host and husband, Mark Consuelos, as they chatted with Law & Order: SVU star Christopher Meloni, as he shared a story about a recent trip to the Dominican Republic with his wife, Sherman. “We were at this beautiful restaurant overlooking a jungle,” he explained. “There was no light. It’s not built up, no one’s there.”
Then an audience member called out, “Where was it?”
Christopher then replied, “I’m not telling you,” which garnered a laugh from the entire audience. Ripa and Consuelos turned to acknowledge the interruption and chipped, “We’ll handle the questions, ma’am,” which prompted even more laughter.
The couple, who tied the knot in 1996 during a quick elopement in Las Vegas, always make for great television. And with three decades of marriage and years appearing on screen together under their belt, there are sure to be many more fun moments ahead.
