Whitney Cummings Spills the Tea on Her Upcoming Comedy Tour

Whitney Cummings is preparing to embark on her first national comedy tour since starring in Can I Touch It? on Netflix. So, what can attendees expect from her new stand-up routine, called “How Dare You?” We’ve got you covered.

PureWow recently sat down for an interview with the 37-year-old comedian, who shared exclusive details about the 22-city tour, which kicks off in March 2020. Cummings revealed that it will be totally different than her Netflix special, which dropped in the midst of the #MeToo movement.

“The last special I did, it felt very imperative as a female in Hollywood to talk about the experience of being a female in Hollywood and what was going on,” she said.

This time around, Cummings is looking forward to branching out and presenting the audience with a unique take on real-life issues…without being too serious.

She continued, “And now, it’s like, ‘OK, I’m excited for another hour of material that’s not about politics and not about what’s going on in the news.’”

Cummings went on to say that she hopes to reconnect with her fans on a personal level, since everything has become so digital, adding, “I feel like everything is done over the computer now and Twitter and Instagram and Instagram Stories. It’s easy to forget we spend so much time promoting ourselves now and talking to a phone that I don’t want to get too far away from what I got into this to do, which was to be in front of a bunch of human beings and entertaining them in person.”
