Here’s What Rachel Lindsay Really Thinks of Peter Weber as the New Bachelor

It’s no secret that Rachel Lindsay was rooting for Mike Johnson to become the next Bachelor, which didn’t happen. So, how does she really feel about the show’s newest star, Peter Weber? We finally have answers.

The former Bachelorette, 34, recently sat down for an exclusive interview with PureWow and discussed Weber’s highly anticipated season of The Bachelor, which premieres on January 6, 2020. When asked about ABC’s selection, Lindsay revealed that Weber is exactly what the show needs.

“I always said Peter would be great. I’ve even spoken to Peter about this. I think Mike is what I wanted because obviously I’m promoting diversity within the franchise,” she said. “But if you’re looking at who’s going to be a great Bachelor, it’s Peter.”

So, why is Weber so well liked? According to Lindsay, it has everything to do with his genuine desire to find a life partner.

“The reason I like Peter so much is because now there’s this stigma of contestants coming on for the wrong reasons. You know, just to use Bachelor lingo,” she explained. “When you look at Peter, this is somebody who is established in his career. Financially, he’s not wanting anything. He’s got the family. He’s got the friends. And the one thing that’s missing in his life is love.”

Lindsay, who recently partnered with Ideal Image MedSpa, went on to say that Weber’s journey will likely provide viewers with something they haven’t seen in several seasons: a normal ending.

“I think the last few seasons we haven’t necessarily seen that, because the relationships haven’t turned out in the typical ending that you’d think,” she said. “I think with Peter we’re going to get that. And I think fans need that.”

We couldn’t agree more, even though we’re total suckers for a dramatic finale.
