Tracee Ellis Ross, 50, is showing her mom, Diana Ross, just how much she loves her on social media.
Tracee Ellis Ross Dedicates Birthday Tribute to Mom Diana with Iconic Throwback
Over the weekend, the Black-ish star dedicated a special birthday tribute to her mom, who just turned 79, on Instagram. In honor of Diana’s big day, Tracee shared photos she and her mother took together for the May 2004 cover story featured in Essence magazine.
In the first photo, Tracee poses alongside her mother, who is hugging her daughter from behind. The second pic shows the iconic mother-daughter duo gracing the cover of Essence, where they’re both rocking a matching shade of shimmery eyeshadow and a nude glossed lip.
The Girlfriends alum wrote in the caption, “In honor of my mom @dianaross’s 79th birthday today, Pt 1: a lil throwback to our @essence cover story from May 2004 shot by @santedorazio. Happy birthday to my incredible otherworldly icon of a mom. I love you so so so so much.”
Tracee also added, “This was the first time I was on the cover of @essence, and the first of many many times I worked with @romyglow & @chuckielovehair!”
However, that was only the first part of her bday tribute. In a separate post, Tracee shared a fun video of herself recreating her mom’s “Work That Body” music video back in 2014. Dressed in a bright purple swimsuit, Tracee is dancing to the beat of the song. In one part of the clip, the Pattern Beauty founder randomly holds up a pair of frosted cupcakes, takes a bite out of them and smiles.
In the caption, she wrote, “In honor of my mom @dianaross’s 79th birthday today, Pt 2: in 2014, I recreated my mom’s “Work That Body” video and I did what the kids call a mashup. Happy birthday to my incredible otherworldly icon of a mom. I love you so so so so much. Thank you @dejilaray, @adrianejamison and @erinhirsh for indulging me in this very fun exercise (no pun intended).”
Happy birthday, Diana!
