Tracee Ellis Ross Wishes Two ‘Black-ish’ Co-Stars Happy Birthday with Rare Throwbacks & BTS Moments

It's a big celebration week for the cast of Black-ish.

The ABC comedy series must be full of Leo energy because two of the main cast members celebrated birthdays this past week: Marsai Martin and Anthony Anderson. Each occasion was marked by fellow cast member Tracee Ellis Ross, who highlighted both b-days by posting never-before-seen videos and pics on Instagram.

It all started on Saturday, when Martin—who plays Ross's youngest daughter on the series—turned 17. To celebrate, Ross shared some gorgeous promo pics of her and Martin, as well as a selfie, a photo from the set and a shot of the two from the 2018 Screen Actors Guild Awards.

In her caption, she said, “17!!!! How is this possible Happy Birthday my tv daughter @marsaimartin! I’ve watched you blossom into such a beautiful & enterprising young woman! LOVE YOU.” To which Martin responded, “Thank you Tracee!! Love you ♥️♥️.”

But the festivities didn't end there.

The following day, another one of Ross's fictional family members celebrated a year around the sun. Anderson, who plays dad and husband "Dre" Johnson Sr., turned 51 on Sunday.

Ross once again turned to Instagram to send her birthday wishes. “Happy birthday to my tv hubby @anthonyanderson,” she said. “P.S. this is just an average day at the office… yes we were goofing off but when Anthony started driving the car we were actually shooting! And when we got out of the car we started saying our lines [laughing emoji]. This video is Anthony & I in a nutshell.”

In the clip, the pair are seen dancing to the song “Philly Vibes” by Ricky Chase DA Green while sporting some navy blue blazers and thick sunglasses. At the end of the video, Ross asks Anderson, “Did they say action?” And he says, “Yes,” before the two get out of the car.

It's good to know this cast always has fun while filming.
